Hello,
Ive been having such anxiety over this situation. I male had sexual relationships with another male unprotected. I was the receptive one it was humping and he tried to stick in the tip a couple times. I have been feeling loss of appetite, having to pee/pressure on bladder, insomia and barely being able to poop. When I did poop it was diarrhea. I tested 3 weeks later std panel (4th gen HIV test) and was negative for HIV and all other STDs. I then went back a couple days and was positive for MGen. Im still feeling the loss of appetite, insomia when I do sleep it wont he for the whole night and not being able to poop correctly. I took a test retest for HIV 6 weeks after exposure how likely is that test to be positive? Im still currently waiting on results. I hope to hear from you soon as im scared

Welcome to our Forum. Thanks for your questions.  From what you say, it sounds like that your partner's penis did not enter your rectum.  If that is the case, then this was a no risk encounter.  If the penis did enter your rectum, there is some risk for HIV but that risk is low both because more people do not have HIV and because even when they do have untreated HIV, less than 1% of exposures lead to infection,.  Your 3 week results are strong evidence that you were not infected.  I anticipate that your 6 week results will be negative and when they are, these results will be conclusive and no further testing is needed.

Your symptoms are more suggestive of anxiety than any specific STI, including HIV.

It also sounds like your rectal swab test was positive for M. genitalium.  Is that correct?  If so, were you treated?  EWH

Hi I took a blood test for MGen (mycoplasma genitalium) and popped positive currently on treatment. And if it was just the head of the penis would it hit the rectum? Also its been days where I been feeling the symptoms I left prior and im still feeling them. Are you sure that negative test after 3 weeks of exposure is s good indicator? Im sorry if its a repeat question. Thank you for answering and your understanding!

If the head of the penis only hit the rectum, there would be no risk.  If the penis had entered your rectum, you would certainly know it.

Your negative test at 3 weeks, as I said, is strong evidence you were not infected.

You have one follow-up remaining.  EWH

Im currently also not drinking as much. All these symptoms have been going on for the duration of the exposure. I just all around feel just crappy. I havent been wanting to leave the house or interact with people. I cant get a full nights rest. I havent really eaten this whole time. Like I said prior it was just the penis head that went in it was a couple of times. Humping and then I did give him oral. Im sorry if this seems like repetition but I feel like I forgot a couple details.

Thanks for the additional information.  It does not change my assessment in any way.  From the sounds of things, after the fact you have come to regret your participation in this encounter and that regret is impacting you and your interactions with other people.  Despite the regret however, there is no reason to be concerned about STIs.  I encourage you to discuss your regrets with a trained counselor.  There is no need for further testing.  EWH---
