Hi
I had unprotected sex on November 25th 2023 . After three weeks I got fever and cold and my gums got swollen and started bleeding and I started observing flat red rashes on my glans right after mastrubation on feb 7th which is 77 days after exposure of have given std 10 panel test where all std’s came back negative including hiv fourth generation test but hsv1 shown abnormal . And I again gave std 10 panel test on feb 28th that is 98 days after exposure same everything came back negative except hsv1 is abnormal . I went to urologist and showed my rashes on my glans he said it looks like blantatis for him . I showed him reports and he prescribed me valacyclovir.
On March 28th that is 128 days after exposure I have given another std 10 panel test all came back negative except hsv1 .
And on April 9th that is 138 days after exposure I have given qualitative hiv1/hiv2 rna test which is non reactive for both
And on April 24th that is 152 days after exposure I have given hiv ag/ab p24 with reflex test which is negative
And on may 9th that is 167 days after exposure I have given another std 10 panel test which all came back negative except hsv1 is abnormal .
And on may 29th that’s is 187 days after exposure I have given hiv ag/ab p24 with reflex test which is negative .

HSV 1 is most often present due to a history of cold sores that show up on your lip edge or inside your nose. Does that sound familiar to you? about half the US population between 14 and 49 are infected with HSV 1, so very common indeed. You might be confusing the word "herpes" with genital herpes perhaps?

Hi warren ,
Thanks for the reply . I am so confused for last six months from the day of my last exposure . Right three weeks of my exposure I got fever and my lips and gums got swollen and started bleeding . And I also have observed tiny small red spots on my glans which I have never seen before . Initially I thought these were because of friction rashes due to mastrubation . Days passing by if I mastrubate at night till the morning I wake up I used to see flat red rashes then I gave std 10 panel test . Where everything came back negative except for hsv1.
I went to urologist and showed him my glans he said it was blantatis . Immediately I showed him reports that I was hsv1 abnormal and hsv2 normal . Then he prescribed me valacyclovir .and I searched my self on Google and ordered terrasil blantatis ointment and started using both at terrasil and valacyclovir and rashes are not coming back .one or two times if they appear also it’s not bright like before or it doesn’t look concerning to me . I kept posting many times on Quora and took just answer subscriptions and asked many physicians .some are saying blantatis ,some say candidas , some say hsv1 initial phase was erosive blantatis on genitals ,some say do culture test which i cannot coz I live in upstate ny . All labs have only blood test for herpes and more over I am not getting rashes from last two months . Which answer I need to believe .
I have done total 6 hiv ag/ab p24 tests and one qualitative hiv1/hiv2 rna tests in these six months out of fear all are non reactive . And other stds are non reactive .i am in a state where my mind is thinking like weather my usage of valacyclovir or my herpes virus is making my tests cannot detect hiv or any other stds is it true ?

Herpes would not normally cause swollen lips and gums bleeding. It could cause a swollen lip with blisters and sores present, but that's not what you are describing here.
If you take antivirals from the very beginning of infection, you can impact the antibody testing. Have you been taking it constantly since you thought you were infected?
The herpes western blot would be helpful in sorting out whether you are actually infected with HSV 2 in addition to HSV 1, if that is your concern/ I guess I'm not clear about exactly what is your concern?

Hi warren,
Thanks for the reply . I will explain you clearly . I had an unprotected exposure on nov26 th 2023 . With in three weeks after exposure I started noticing small red dots/rashes on glans which will typically last for one day and it will only come right after mastrubation . And at fourth week I got fever and lips got swollen with only one white granule and two red swollen spots . The whole week I cannot eat properly .
On February 7th which is 77 days after exposure . I have given std 10 panel test which all came back negative except hsv1. where as hsv2 negative.
On feb 28th which is 98 days after exposure I have given another std 10 panel test same story all came back negative except hsv1 . where as hsv2 negative .
On March 28th which is 120 days after exposure . I have given another std 10 panel test same story . I went to urologist and showed him my glans that rashes are coming on my glans right after mastrubation . He looked at it and said it might be blantatis coz I never had blisters on my glans . Then I showed him reports he immediately said I need be on pills named valacyclovir .
Then I took those pills in pharmacy . And started using it . And I searched my self in Google and started using terrasil ointment for my glans in case if it was blantatis . After that I am not getting rashes on glans but sometimes I am facing difficulties pulling skin back coz my glans is getting dry and my foreskin is getting sticked to glans
1)So my question is “ I did not used valacyclovir antiviral prematurely “ . After 3 antibody tests urologist prescribed it .
2)so please give me suggestion what I need to believe do I have oral herpes or genital herpes . Antibody tests showing hsv1 abnormal . And hsv2 negative .

3)in addition to that I have given more tests after started using valacyclovir . I have given qulitative hiv1/hiv2 rna test on 134 day after exposure which is non reactive .And hiv ag/ab p24 on 145 days after exposure which is non reactive .And another std 10 panel test on 161 days after exposure where all came back negative except hsv1 . On 181 days after exposure I have give one hiv ag/ab p24 which is non reactive .
4) so total 6 fourth gen tests and one qualitative hiv1/hiv2 rna pcr tests came back non reactive and all other stds as well expect hsv1
5)will usage of valacyclovir affect my hiv test? False negative ? I am scared that if I will get hiv . My usage of valacyclovir is affecting my tests for hiv or any other std’s
6) please let me know if I need any other tests ?can I rule out hiv and other std’s

I think you are mixing up HSV and HIV results here. Perhaps. The valacyclovir would not impact HIV results, no.
I do not see the need to do other STD tests at this point, no
