[Question #11461] Condom size concern

So I had covered sex 2x with a chinese CSW recently in Cali. Supposedly just arrived.
I had two different condoms, qty 1) 6.5 to 7" 2.09 wide and a qty 1) 7.5 to 8.3 2.17 wide. Both times there would be periods of softening but was able to complete. I did notice slack on the penis head side when pulling out, with more on the larger condom. During intercourse, I made absolutely sure to watch the shaft side throughout for any sliding if the condom upwards. The larger one seemed to slide more upwards, however that was the 2nd round which makes sense since I wasn't super rock hard like the first time. The worst I saw was mid 2nd round, larger condom, the penis was half covered with the slack. Had to pull condom down a few times but visible at all times.
I did read that wearing the wrong size can put you at more risk, gap, slippage, fluid getting underneath, etc, but I have no way to assess if the larger condom indeed put me at more risk. I assumed if one could see the bottom of the condom at all times all was good. Even despite softening causing more slack. I'm 6".
Your thoughts? Risk of all STI's? Hiv?

Welcome to our forum. Thank you for your questions. Congratulations to your thoughtful commitment to safe, condom protected sex. Careful scientific studies have shown the condoms break about one percent of the time they are used. On the other hand, slippage rates are more poorly documented and while they are theoretically a possible contributor to risk for STI’s and or HIV there are no data to support this. As long as the tip of your penis and much of the shaft was covered during the encounter you described, I would anticipate that the condom had done its job and protected you from any STI’s.
I hope this information is helpful. If there are additional questions, please don’t hesitate to use your up to to follow-ups for clarification. EWH.

It sounded like you said that if most of the shaft and penis tip are covered, should be good? Even if there is more than usual slack at the penis tip end due to using a larger than normal condom on the 2nd time of intercourse? I saw a thread where a gentleman complained of fluid getting under the condom and he was recommended to test, prompting this inquiry
It's hard to tell how much shaft is covered due to my hardening and softening during sex. When I got softer, shaft shrinks. However not to the point where I lose the ability to stay inserted. That's why I watch the end and pull down if I start losing sight.
Finally, you seem to know statistics pretty well. Are Chinese/Singapore based CSW less likely to have STD?

You understood my reply correctly. I should add, however, that it is probably not a good idea to use the same condom for more than one act of intercourse. There is no doubt that this increases the risk of the condom breaking.
I don’t know specific data on commercial sex workers from Singapore or China however, it is certainly the case that most commercial sex workers do not have STI’s or HIV and I would think this would be particularly true for one who might have traveled internationally recently. EWH

I didn't re-use. The first time I had the correct size condom and the 2nd time I had the longer size. It seems like you missed my additional question on my 2nd reply. Would of the extra length / slack / oversized reservoir tip of the oversized condom (whatever you want to call it) affect the performance in terms of effectiveness if the bottom stayed rolled down the best I could keep it. It still covered the tip, just with extra... For some reason I'm spooked that the extra play in the condom could contribute to vaginal fluids creeping under, then upwards, to the top with the extra space.

Thanks for the clarification. The extra slack/lenght should not negatively impact the condom as long as it does not break although I would presume that a condom that fit better would be more pleasurable. I suppose there is a somewhat greater chance of secretions getting into the condom but that would be unlikely to have a major effect on the effectiveness unless the condom was somehow filled with a partner's secretions. As you might image, there are really no data to refer to on this topic. EWH ---
