[Question #11512] MSW encounter

On June 3rd I received a massage from a MSW I am a man. He licked my penis and scrotum and also placed his penis between my butt cheeks and pressed against my anus but no penetration. Later he fingered my anus hard for a few minutes and finished with a blowjob to completion.  I licked his penis but did not put it in my mouth. I panicked and took doxy pep the next day and then a week later began a 7 day doxy cycle.  I’ve had a bit of an upset stomach. About 14-15 days after the incident I noticed beau’s lines on all of my fingers. I am very worried about various std’s though I took a gonorrhea and chlamydia test which was negative.  My imagination is running wild.  I asked him about his sexual health and he said he was negative and on prep and he was tested right around the time I saw him.

Welcome to our Forum.  Thank you for your questions.  I'll be glad to comment.  The encounter you describe was very low risk and you have proven that you did not acquire the only STI you were at any risk for.

The only activity you took part in which put you at any risk  was receipt of oral sex.  Having your penis and scrotum licked, having him press his penis against your anus, and having him finger your anus are all absolutely no risk events. There is a slight risk of acquiring gonorrhea from receipt of oral sex but you proved that you did not acquire gonorrhea with your negative test for gonorrhea..  There is no risk of HIV from receipt of oral sex..  The doxycycline you took will provide complete protection from syphilis and chlamydia (I suspect the doxycycline is also the cause of your upset stomach).

Please have confidence at this time that you are in the clear.  You did not get any STI from the encounter you describe.  It is time to move forward without concern.  EWH

Thank you doctor.  Appreciate it.  What can you attribute the beau’s lines to?  It’s just a weird one and the timing of their appearance has me concerned they could be an early symptom of hiv.  It made me think that maybe he inserted his penis in me when I thought it was his hand.  It beau’s lines a possible indicator of something like that?

Beau's lines are NOT a sign of HIV.  Beau's lines occur when the nails stop growing for a period.  Nails can stop growing for many reasons including severe (as in acutely life-threatening) infections,, trauma, or nutritional deficiencies.  Sometimes the cause is not apparent. Typically, they are not apparent until more than 4-6 weeks after an event.  While I cannot tell you what has led to these, I can assure you that they are not due to an infection acquired at the encounter you described.  EWH---

Hi Dr. Hook.  Let’s assume for a second I was wrong and he did insert his penis in me.  If he had hiv and passed it to me could not the “acute” response to entering my body trigger the beau’s lines? Everything I’ve read(I know you say not to read!) says beaus lines could be a response to an accute infection or virus.  It even mentions syphilis as a possible trigger.  Have you never seen this? I am apologetic in advance for beating a dead horse.

As I said before, beau’s lines are not a sign of HIV. The sort of infection that caused beau’s lines are the sorts of illnesses, which put people into the ICU.

I’m afraid you are going down to rabbit hole here. If youR beau’s lines were due to HIV, an HIV test would be positive. Why don’t you go get tested and prove to yourself that you are not infected.

As you know, we provide up to three responses to each question. This will be my final response and this thread will be closed later today..  EWH
