[Question #11533] Oral STI?

I was scraping my tongue and ended up nicking it towards the back. This same day I licked a strippers vagina, Once. The next morning I woke up with a tickle in my throat . Sometimes it feels like something is caught in my throat. Sometimes it feels like there's a scratch back there but I wouldnt say I have a sore throat. It doesnt hurt to swallow but I can tell something is wrong. On day 4 I tested for oral chlamydia and Gonnorhea. They came back negative the next day. I'm a bit skeptical of the results due to how fast they came back and because I realize it may have been too soon. After the 1st couple of days my pharynx started to become dry but has since subsided. Other than that I haven't had a fever or felt sick besides the throat issue which has persisted for about 12 days now. I feel like I may be able to see a slight bumpy texture when I point a light towards the back of my throat but it's hard to say. I have no sores or anything else in my mouth. Is this an STI?

Welcome to our Forum.  Thanks for your questions.  I think you are worrying needlessly.  Your oral sex on a stripper is a close to no risk event and your negative tests, taken at a time when your results are reliable, PROVE that you were not infected.

The symptoms you describe are more likely to be due to looking for symptoms and noticing normal sensations than any indication of infection, including STI

Please don't worry.  EWH

I've considered that as well however something has definitely irritated my throat, lasted for almost 2 weeks and coincides with my error in judgement. Do you mind humoring me and telling me how likely it is that this is syphilis or something like tricomaniasis?

You were being paranoid. Trichomoniasis does not infect the throat and if Syphilis wears present and obvious lesion would be there.  The dryness and bumps that you describe in your throat are in no way suggestive of Syphilis.  EWH---

How conclusive are these throat swabs being that I tested so soon.

I ended up up getting a multi-antibiotic prescription of Azithromycin (Zpak), Doxycycline & Suprax as a precaution. Let's say I had pharyngeal gonorrhea, would these doses cure me or would I still need the shot?

Throat swab specimens obtained any time more than 3-5 days after an exposure are reliable.  I encourage you to move forward and not worry further.

There are only limited data on the activity of azithromycin as treatment for oral STIs but there is NO evidence that you were infected.

Again, I urge you to move forward.
