[Question #11539] Risk of sti/std with recent encounter

Hi doctor HHH
I asked a question in 2021 and your advice was very helpful. I find myself in similar situation unfortunately. I saw a csw. I did following activities
1) Kiss cheeks neck and breasts and armpits
2) she kissed my neck and behind the ear
3) I touched her butt
4) I masturbated myself and didn't touch her vagina
I am really scared about hsv2 and other skin contact stds like syphillis hpv etc. She had some red pimples on her butt it didnt look like hsv2. Could you please advise on the risk from this encounter since I have a partner. How long should i wait for hsv2 symptoms to rule it out. Thanks

Welcome back. Thanks for your continued confidence in our services. FYI, it's by chance I am responding: users do not have the option of selecting the moderator who responds, and Dr. Hook's and my experience and advice are no different.

You must have a new username; I don't find another question from you. However, if the exposure 3 years ago was indeed similar to this one, you won't be surprised by my assessment. The sorts of contact you describe are entirely free of risk of any STI, including those you mention. Don't misunderstand advice you have seen -- either on our forum or elsewhere -- about STI transmission by skin contact. It does not mean any and all skin contact, but the kinds of skin contact that typically occur with intercourse. Some infections are transmitted primarily in body fluids (gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, hepatitis B) and others primarily by skin contact (HSV, syphilis, HPV) -- but all require penetrating sex as well, or at least direct genital-genital contact.
So you needn't be worried at all and I advise against testing. In response to your closing question, symptoms of newly acquired HSV2 typically start 3-5 days after exposure, rarely up to 3 weeks. But I'm confident you were not at risk anyway.
I hope these comments are helpful. Let me know if anything isn't clear.

Thanks My previous encounter was a much serious one where the csw used a lambskin condom but your advice and guidance about the possibility and the accuracy of hiv 4th gen was really excellent. I will skip the thought of testing for now since I really trust and value your advice. I will update this question if there is any additional doubts I have in coming days. Thanks
