my anxiety killing me because of my symptoms and this bring me here again.I am sure I don't have HIV1, my concern with hiv2. I will summarize the exposure & tests as follow-
1st exposure with African sexworker in Dubai , protected but I don't remember condom removed from penis or no at sex.I did 3rd &4th generation tests 10 months from this exposure & result was negative (one of these tests was visa renewal test in Dubai).
-2nd exposure was with Asian sexworker in Dubai ,protected & The visa test was 128 day from this exposure&result was negative .
The Asian lady did her visa test 6 month after our exposure and her result was negative ,can I consider her safe?
My questions please
1-let us consider the short period which is 128 day, is this 10000% conclusive and rule out hiv2 without any doubt?
2- I know this is stupid question,if I consider the African girl only , can I consider the 10 months 100000%. Conclusive for hiv2 especially she is African and I don't know her status .I am worry from this exposure
3--Please this is the most important question, what is the maximum window period for hiv2 such that after this period I am 10000% sure I don't have hiv2.
4-These two exposures are now 1.5 and 2 years ago and last week I got too much pain in my neck back of my two ears but I not feel any enlargement just pain.Is it possible to have late hiv2 sercoconvert after one and half or two years.?
5-I have one mouse ulcer for 4 months now but it is beside partially broken jaws .Is it possible for hiv2 ARS to come after more than 1.5 years and continue for 4 months till now?
6-My last question,do I need any test again for hiv2 , really I don't want to test again but I am scared because of my neck pain and mouth ulcer.i will do whatever you will advise either to test or no
Thank you

Welcome back. Unfortunately, however, I see nothing in these questions what wasn't answered in your previous thread -- or whose answers are not obvious from that discussion. That included the low chance your partner(s) had HIV, even lower chance for HIV2, the infrequency of transmission if one of them was infected, at least one partner's negative test, and your own negative test results, which conclusive have shown you have neither HIV1 nor HIV2. How much more evidence do you need????
1. It is a conclusive result. You do not have HIV2.
2. Yes.
3. Minimum window 6 weeks. Maximum window 8 weeks. Any test beyond 18 weeks was proof you were not infected.
4. It is impossible to have HIV symptoms with negative blood tests. Something other than HIV explains your pain. And HIV doesn't cause such symptoms anyway.
5. Same for your mouth ulcer.
6. No, you do not need to test again.
You do not have HIV. I do hope these replies finally settle your fears. Let me know if anything isn't clear -- but please do not ANYTHING you ask that has already been answered in this thread or your last one.

I am sorry doctor, I know that I am overthinking may be because of sudden appearance of symptoms or because of some posts for people saying some cases of hiv2 take one year to develop antibodies.I am sorry again and I will do my best to move on,you are the expert and I should follow you.i have a comment please I believe you mean in point # 3 any test beyond 8 weeks not 18 and it is miss typo, correct?
Please I have 2 questions
1-From almost 1.5 years I did STD tests and I found CMV igg positive and after 3 months I did igm test and it was negative (sorry I don't remember the sequence)but the doctor said the positive one does not need any medicine, do u think it was not correct that I did take medicine for it and may be this is cause of some symptoms I have?
Do you recommend to test again for CMV igg and igm and take medicine if one them is positive ?
2-I did the visa test in Dubai but I don't know if it include grohenima ( sorry I am not sure of the spelling) , Is this grohenima differ from Chlamydia which I already tested negative from it because for almost 2 years since the exposure with African lady I feel something wrong with my throat and tongue, not sore throat but most of the time dry tongue and throat, I feel sometimes like particles of sand inside my throat.
Is this may be grohenima ?

Yes, correct: Any time after 8 weeks. Sorry for the error.

1. CMV was no risk, and in any case undoubtedly you have a longstanding CMV infection. It occurs in 90% of people by age 12, even more common in countries outside North America and Europe. Most people your age would have these same test results. Do not test again.
2. Gonorrhea and chlamydia are separate sexually transmitted bacteria, but both are very common. Almost all gonorrhea/chlamydia tests include both, and neither can last for two years. You can be entirely sure you have neither one (and probably never did).
I'm going to add a statement that might be pertinent to your fears, which I have used in response to many questions: "I have to wonder whether you have had biased education about HIV and sexually transmitted infections. In some countries, and some places in all countries, official education is driven more by politics and religion than by science, and sometimes suggests that HIV and STIs are much more easily transmitted than they really are. However, accurate information is available online -- not just in forums like this, but at various academic, public health, and NGO websites. I suggest you spend some time searching online for the truth about HIV/STI risks -- but limit your searching to professional or professionally mediated sources." Two excellent starting places are the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (https://www.cdc.gov/sti/) and the American Sexual Health Association, the sponsor of this forum (www.ashasexualhealth.org).

Thank you professor
This will be my last participation because I really tired from thinking and I have to follow your advise.
As this is the last follow up appreciate if you can confirm to the following for last time.
1- Any negative test results after 8 weeks maximum is 10000% conclusive for hiv2 either test is 3rd or 4th generation.
2-Any symptoms come after 1.5 or 2 years from exposure and similar to hiv2 symptoms then these symptoms related to something else and not to hiv2
3-Taking 6 months or 1 year to produce antibodies for hiv2 is internet myth.
4-No need to retest for hiv2 as long as you have negative results 8 weeks after the exposure
Please confirm
Thank you so much

I conform all four statements.
That concludes this thread. Please note the forum does not permit repeated questions on the same topic or exposure. This being your second, it will have to be your last; future questions on these topics will receive no reply and the posting fee will not be refunded. This policy is based on compassion, not criticism, and is intended to reduce temptations to keep paying for questions with obvious answers. In addition, experience shows that continued answers tend to prolong users' anxieties rather than reducing them. Finally, such questions have little educational value for other users, one of the forum's main purposes. Thanks for your understanding.
I do hope the two discussions allow you to move on with no further worries. Best wishes and stay safe.
