This question is for Dr. Hook, but also a thank you to Dr. HH - over the last ten years I have battled severe OCD about STDs and have found your forum and other posts on other forums you moderated to be of great comfort.  I have been in therapy now for a year and have made tremendous progress.  I had a session today where went through all of the fears I had since this started and I am down to just one issue.  I re-read a question I posted a couple of months ago that gave me great comfort about my false positive HBcAB test.  I often go back to questions I asked and read them again to give me comfort and the strength to move on, so I wanted to say thank you so much for everything you have done for me.  I have one last question about this because I noticed I made a typo in the question I asked:  The sentence where my typo was " I recently tried to get my labwork from 1999 but couldn't because the records are gone, when I found out my test was inconclusive I called the hospital and the nurse read me my results HBsAG (-), HBsAB (-), HBcAB (+) - my OCD is causing me to have false memories and I just get scared that is was the HBcAB (+) that was positive."  I meant to say the HBsAG (+) was the positive.  You answered me: "Your test results prove you never had hepatitis.  Your 1999 results are irrelevant.  If you had hepatitis, your subsequent tests would have shown this."  I am assuming that my typo does not change your answer - is this true?  I saw this because when you say my subsequent tests prove I never had HBV its because if they did the HBcAB (the marker of past infection that persists for life would have been positive in all three tests) - is this also true?  I know you will be upset with me for asking about HBV again, but this is my last hurdle and when I saw I made the typo it just scared me.

I also just wanted to say I entered two questions but only asked one - the other is a gift to the site for the great work that you do for me and countless others, I have seen many people with OCD ask questions on this site, thanks to you Dr Hook and DR Handsfield you have helped countless people.  I know I am at the end of my journey with OCD and I have my therapist to thank for that - but also the two of you.  I wish you nothing but the best, if you can just answer this last question below, I am certain now I can move on with my life and I have you both to thank for that.  Thank you so much, and please accept the other question I didn't ask but paid for as a thank you and donation to the site.
