[Question #11644] Would PEP be recommended in this instance?

Good morning!
A little over 24 hours ago, a potential new partner and I were kissing, and that turned into light teasing. My partner pushed his penis against my anus, but I do not believe actually entered, although it was forceful. There might have been pre-cum there. After that, he put on a condom and we attempted light penetration once (literally for about four seconds) before deciding to wait. He told me that he was last tested about four months ago and had a clean bill of health, but did have one sexual encounter since then where he says he used a condom. My question is, for the "teasing" described above, should I pursue PEP in case there was a possible exposure that neither of us know about? Or perhaps this is nothing to worry about? Always appreciate your advice. Thanks!

Welcome to our forum. Thanks for your confidence in our service. Although it is, at least to some degree, a personal choice, if I were seeing you in my clinic, I would discourage you from taking PEP. Your partner has been forthright in reporting his testing history to you, and it is unlikely that he has acquired HIV in the interval since last tested. In addition, despite its forceful nature and the possible presence of pre-ejaculatory fluid, forage/teasing without penetration is a no risk activity.
I hope this perspective is helpful to you. If any part of my comments is unclear, please don’t hesitate to use your up to to follow ups for clarification. EWH
