[Question #11646] Ars or H pylori

Exposure risk with csw in NY.

Used condom vaginal and no condom hand job, but she jerked me off so fast it tore base of the shaft and I had a bit of serum coming out from torn skin for a day.

19 days after exposure I noticed rash on my shoulder and neck and red spots around neck/chest. low grade fever (37.5–38 lasted for 2 days)

Anxiety kicks in with above symptom

Day 20 had a bad diarrhea that lasted for a 4 days.

On day 21 tested HIV RNA PCR qualitative - not detected.

On day 21 tested HIV ab/ag - non reactive

On day 21 done complete blood work/ urine test/ stool. stool H. PYLORI -POSITIVE.

Symptoms between day 21-23: diarrhea, low grade fever, dry mouth, lower back and thigh fatigue.

Doc prescribed clarithromycin, amoxicillin, omeprazole for h pylori. - 10 day treatment.

From day 28 and until now (day 45 no longer on antibiotics) I have general skin rash - flushing on face and random itching during the day.

No swollen lymph, no night sweats, no fever past 21–24 days.

I’m beyond scared at this point to find out and clinging to the possibility that all my symptoms are due to H pylori and not the exposure

Also general rash is not all over the body, and only happens after I eat. Previously I would have rash if I drink too much caffeine.

My doctor is unfazed with my anxiety about HIV and is convinced this is a coincidence and I simply have ate something that triggered diarrhea.
I’ve done full blood panel and blood work returned within range, only other flag is I had low Vitamin D25 18.4 L possibly due to h pylori.

Welcome to the Forum although your 5 serial posts, ignoring the word limit for the Forum are problematic.  You could have asked these questions with far fewer words.  Please follow the Forum rules.

The encounter you describe, condom protected sex and receipt of masturbation are virtually no risk events in terms of HIV risk.  The fact that the masturbation led to an abrasion does not change this.  Your day 21 HIV PCR test is conclusive and PROVES that none of the symptoms that are worrying you are due to HIV.  Your skin rash is NOT due to HIV.  It may be due to the antibiotics you are taking for H. pylori.  My advice is to contact the doctor who diagnosed your H. pylori infection and ask if the antibiotics you are taking might be causing your rash.  Ampicillin in particular is well known to cause skin rashes.

There is no need for additional testing for HIV.  You have proven you were not infected at the encounter you have described.  EWH

Thank you for replying and apologies for word limit.
My main concern is that rash, fever, diarrhea started before antibiotics.

If any of those symptoms are actually ARS and would present themselves how likely for RNA test on 21 day to show false negative?

This is a repetitive question. As I said above your PCR test conclusively proves that you did not acquire HIV from the exposure you described. The test is not going to become positive. Therefore, any symptoms that occurred either before or since then cannot be the ARS. Your symptoms are due to something other than HIV. EWH.---
