[Question #11678] Follow up questions

Hi Terri,

First of all I want to really thank you. I feel pretty alone in this situation and the worrying is affecting me a lot, but you have been a huge help honestly. This is a follow up question to #11630

I came up with a "new" plan and I wanted to have your thoughts on this.

1. This Saturday I will go to my doctor and get an IGG for HSV2. I know I told you before that I have been negative before, however, I have had encounters after. So I guess taking a baseline test would be wise in this situation. My encounter from 7 days ago wouldnt give a positive IGG now, right?

2. If I am negative from the baseline test, I was thinking to reschedule the next one at 12 weeks. If I am negative at week 12, do you think I can let this go and not have to disclose any of this to future partners?

And honestly, thank you again. You have been such a help for me.

I guess I am also extra worried because my body feels icky. Like I feel cold and warm sometimes and just tired. I hate that this happens after my exposure, but I guess it could be anything...I dont know :( I feel so worried

Sorry but I just wanted to add that I took my temp (its evening here) and I have 37,7 celsius in temperature. I dont know if this is condiered a fever, but I feel icky. I dont know if I should be worried that it is because of this :(

I like your plan - getting a baseline will be very helpful.  I'm sorry you aren't feeling well, I would suggest you perhaps take some Advil and try to get some rest.  Observe for any lesions around the mouth

Hi Terri,
Hope you are well.

I just wanted to update you on my baseline IGG test for HSV2. And it was negative!
Do you think the very low grade fever I had a couple of days later was associated with the exposure? Or would you expect some kind of lesions associated with the fever at the same time?

I will retest at 12weeks. And if Im negative, I will honestly leave this behind me.
You have been a great help Terri.

I would expect some kind of lesions, I suspect the fever was unrelated to this issue.
You can test at 10 weeks, 12 weeks is the wait for western blot.
Glad to be of help!

Terri
