[Question #11682] Nuru Massage Exposure

Good evening, Dr.
My apologies for being back on the forum but my anxiety is getting the best of me.

A couple days ago, I went and visited a CSW who performed a Nuru massage. This massage was odd in that while I was laying on my stomach the CSW rubbed her expose vagina against my butt and anus for a few minutes. She then had me turn over and rubbed her vagina against my leg and penis but there was no insertion whatsoever.

My question is, what is the associated STI risk with this is type of activity? Should I test for all STI’s since vaginal/genital secretions were exchanged?

Thank you.

Welcome back to our Forum.  Thanks for your questions.  I’ll be glad to comment.  Before I comment on the encounter let’s start by acknowledging that it is statistically unlikely that your masseuse had any STI. Most do not.  As for the encounter itself, without penetration there is no risk for HIV, Gonorrhea, chlamydia or similar diseases.  Contact with genital secretions without penetration does not pose a risk for infection. There is a largely theoretical risk for acquisition of lesion STIs like syphilis or herpes but realistically the risk from the exposure you describe is close to zero.

I see no reason for concern and no medical reason for testing although some clients find negative tests reassuring.  If you choose to test for common STIs like Gonorrhea or chlamydia, results will be conclusive at any time more than 3-5 days after your encounter.  Testing for syphilis or HIV would take longer to be conclusive- about 6 weeks until blood tests would be conclusive.  Personally, I would not bother to test at all.  EWH

Thank you, Dr. Last question, and sorry for being paranoid. I also briefly inserted my finger, which had a healing cut around the cuticle, into her vagina. Does that pose any risk for STI’s or HIV. Mainly, because of the wound?  Thank you.

Masturbation of a partner with your finger, even if you have a recent cut or scrape on your finger is a no risk activity.  EWH---
