[Question #11778] Follow up on [Question #11611] HPV/STD from giving handjob

Hi all,
I am still worried about the possibility of getting an STD especially HPV from the encounter I described before in my previous question.

1- Can I get HPV from non-sexual skin-to-skin contact during hugging or cuddling? Especially if the contact was prolonged without any barriers (ex clothes) and with a large area of the body skin being in touch with another person who might be infected.
Also, we used to hold hands for a long time. Can this transmit HPV?

2- A few days ago, I had to borrow a t-shirt from my friend. Can this transmit HPV?

I have read a few articles on the internet that HPV can be easily transmitted non-sexually. That's why I am getting more worried, especially with that skin growth that I started to notice on my genital area which I mentioned in the previous question.
3- If that skin growth did not grow in size and did not spread anywhere else. Can we say it's not an HPV wart and it's just a skin stag?

Welcome back, but I'm sorry you found it necessary. I read your recent discussion with Dr. Hook and agree with his evaluation and advice. The answers to these additional questions should be clear from that discussion, so my replies are brief.

1. No, you cannot acquire HPV from such contact.

2. Same answer. HPV transmission is not possible.

3. I don't care what articles you have found on the internet. Anyone can write whatever they want; it is not true "that HPV can be easily transmitted non-sexually". From your description, the skin growth you describe seems to have been a skin tag and not a wart. However, since I cannot examine you in person (and we do not accept images to view online), I cannot say with certainty. I suggest you see a doctor to determine the accurate diagnosis.

Best wishes -- HHH, MD

Hi All,

Thanks for your answers so far.

As I explained in the previous question, I got intimate once with a guy and we did some dry humping and rubbing.
But he was not wearing any clothes, and I only wore underwear.
I am worried that maybe the fabrics moved a bit while we were dry-humping and part of my labia was in contact with his penis
Or the contact between my inner thigh and his penis

Can this contact transmit any STD/STI, especially HPV?

This additional information doesn't change anything. Even if there was brief direct contact between your thigh, penis or labia with his penis, such brief contact is zero risk for HPV and all other STIs.

That concludes this thread. Please note the forum policy against repeated questions on the same topic, especially when anxiety driven. This being your second, it will have to be your last on these topics. Thank you for your consideration. I do hope the tow discussion have been helpful to you. Best wishes and stay safe.
