Hi thank you for taking the time to answer my questions, so a few weeks ago I had given and received oral sex 13 days after the encounter I tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia they both came out negative and on the 16th day I took a hiv rna early detection test that was negative along with a trich test that was also negative my question is how conclusive is my hiv test and did it matter that the day before I had like 5 drinks?
I am planning on taking a test for syphilis and another hiv fourth gen test on week six if everything come out negative on the week six test am I in the clear? How likely is it that I had got an std from this encounter I will note that they said they were clean and on prep but you still don’t know I currently have no symptoms of anything and it’s been 24 days since

Welcome to our Forum.  Thanks for your questions.  I'll be glad to comment.  Receipt of oral sex is relatively low risk for acquistion of STIs. There has never been a proven case of HIV acquired from receipt of oral sex and other STIs are quite rare.  In response to your specific questions:

Your test results for gonorrhea and chlamydia are absolutely conclusive.  There is no need for additional testing.  Similarly, and HIV RNA PCR test taken any time more than 11 days after an exposure  is also considered conclusive and need not be repeated from a scientific perspective.  Your test for trich, which is virtually never transmitted through oral sex - trich does not effectively infect the oral cavity.  Your risk for syphilis is likewise vanishingly low and not something to worry about.  I am confident that when you test, your test will be negative, proving that you did not acquire syphilis either.

I urge you not to worry about the very, very low risk encounter you describe.  EWH

Even tho I had given oral to and I’m pretty sure they ejaculated even tho in honesty didn’t feel anything? I don’t remember having any kinda cuts or sores in my mouth at the time and the fact that I had drank alchol the night prior to the test, I did take the test like 12-14 hours after drinking alchol not sure if that matters at all

Ok thank you for the reassurance, one more question I have is there any other std that I need to worry about and maybe get a throat swab done? I don’t have any kind of symptoms and I feel like something would have happened now if I had caught herpes

I see no reason for additional testing.  Your risk of herpes from receipt of oral sex is very low and if you were going to develop herpes lesions, they would have appeared by now- herpes lesions appear within 10 days of an exposure if they are going to occur.

I think it's time for you to put your concerns aside and move forward.

This is the 3rd reply as part of this thread.  The thread will be closed now.  EWH
