My physician reuses blood tube (vacutainer) holder with anew needle to draw blood. He said its reusable but I found this article saying it can back flow and cause transmission of HCV/ HIV. Does article apply to me? Am I at risk?

Welcome to the Forum. Thanks for your question. I'll be glad to comment. I'm not sure where the article you saw came from and would be glad to take a look. There is a lot of misinformation on the internet about risks of infection from vacutainer re-use which are misleading. Vacutainer holders are designed to be re-used and there is no risk you you if your doctor is re-using a vacutainer holder to draw your blood.
I would not be worried in the least. I have never seen or heard of an infection (HIV, hepatitis, or other) being acquired from re-use of a vacutainer holder. EWH
