Thanks for your question.  I'll be glad to comment.  I'm not sure where the article you saw came from and would be glad to take a look.  There is a lot of misinformation on the internet about risks of infection from  vacutainer re-use which are misleading.  Vacutainer holders are designed to be re-used and there is no risk you you if your doctor is re-using a vacutainer holder to draw your blood.---
