[Question #11826] Possible exposure

Hi Terri. Sorry I’m such a broken record. My ocd likes to make me play things over and over again in my mind and then I think of other things that may have happened. In my last post I was saying how I bathed  and the towel with an outbreak. My concern now is that when I got out of the bath I’m worried that water dripped on the floor and it may have had some virus in it from dripping down my leg. 20 mins later My daughter stepped in the bathroom so I’m worried she stepped in the possible puddle with virus in it. Then right after I changed her pull up right in the hallway outside the bathroom. I’m worried she got virus on her feet because when I put on her pull up her feet always touch the crotch area of the pull up. Is this a risk of her getting it on her genitals when the pull up touches her?

The skin on her feet is way too thick for virus to penetrate her skin.  In addition, the water dripping on the floor after your shower is so unlikely to contain virus, and even it if did, the volume would be very low and her skin is too thick. This is not a risk to your daughter.

The rules on the website prohibit anxiety-related follow-up questions, so if you have further questions, you can ask them of me at westoverheights.com.

Oh my gosh I’m so sorry! So I can assume that there wouldn’t be any virus on her foot to contaminate her pull up when I put it on?
I will go back to your other website again so sorry!

You definitely can assume that, yes.
No worries for me about these questions, it is just the policy of this website.

I hope this question is okay to ask… I got a lesion swabbed today. Since I take 500 mg of Valtrex daily… could that mess with the test results?

Sorry I just wanted to add to the foot situation… if I touched her foot also to put up her legs to then wipe her bottom? So I’m wondering if it could transfer from the wet floor to her foot to my hand to the baby wipe then to her bottom? I know I’m not suppose to ask anxiety questions I just forgot to ask about that part. I just want to make sure the baby wipe wouldn’t transfer it to her bottom? I’ll go to your website after this.

So our website is having some issues so hold off on that.
I am not concerned at all about the foot - water-wipe situation as a risk for transmission, no.  But thanks for the clarification.
Yes, Valtrex could interfere with swabbing accuracy
