[Question #11849] Risk pt2

To follow up on my last question - as discussed I had a bad fever a few days ago and started to get a red papule on the shaft of my penis. I started a zpack and the redness is essentially gone now and no bump. The bump did look like an irritated ppp but my question is would the zpack prevent a chancre or ulcer from forming bc of syphilis? Im getting tested next week and my exposure was from frottage/masturbation from saliva by a csw? Im worried I contracted syphilis but the zpack perhaps surpressed any forming symptoms. I saw a doctor and they mentioned the mark i saw was nonspecific and looked nothing like syphilis..

Apologies as i am very nervous about this - just want to know if the zpack is masking any apparent symptoms i might have from syphilis even if the red papule had started to form..

It's such a shame that you ask for advice, then ignore it, allowing your guilt and unwarranted anxiety to get the best of you. Your experience was virtually no risk and this was explained to you. You asked if the symptoms you experienced sounded like symptoms and were told that they did not- syphilis does not cause high fever and recently acquired syphilis does not call headache. Then you noticed a "tiny red spot/cut on the shaft" which went away and asked if that suggested syphilis and were told it did not suggest syphilis. You then saw a doctor who told you that your symptoms and bump sounded nothing like syphilis. So then, instead of taking the advice you asked for, you started a Z-pak. Guess what- if you had syphilis (i am confident you do not), the Z-pack will only obscure things. About half of Treponema pallidum, the bacteria that causes syphilis, is resistant to azithromycin. Thus, in theory, the z-pak might obscure syphilis although in reality, there is no reason to think you have syphilis. There's not much to do from here. You can have a blood test 4-6 weeks after you finish the azithromycin to prove to yourself that you do not, and did not have syphilis. Nothing more to be said.
Please no more "what if" questions and no more requests for advice that you are going to ignore. EWH

I can appreciate your directness and I dont mean to be a bother. This has caused me great stress due to the impact it could have on my life. I took a zpack due to the illness I experienced at the advice of my doctor - not to self medicate any STD. My question was to gain knowledge on its impact of any testing. Again, I appreciate your guidance here. I plan on getting tested next week and not anytime further.

As I said, I’m confident the test, as well as any subsequent tests will be negative. EWH---
