[Question #11880] Transmission

I was looking at a possible outbreak with a mirror.. and I know I touched the sore and the mirror. Then my youngest daughter played with my mirror prob 10 mins later. Then she used the potty soon after prob 5 mins. She touches her front bottom all the time when we put her on the potty (she doesn’t use the bathroom alone yet she is still learning so we have to put her on and off ) can this transfer the virus to her bottom?

Have you done an HSV test as I suggested?  Until you actually do that to know that you have HSV 2, I'm not going to answer any more of these questions, I'm afraid.  Please do it
This situation you describe above is not a risk for transmission to your daughter IF you have HSV 2

How do I go about getting it done?
Do you know how much it is? My husband gets so frustrated with me because he says I don’t have it and that it’s all in my head because all the tests I’ve taken have come back negative.

Also it was the sore that tested negative when I went and got a pcr done on it. But I know that could be a false because I’m on the daily valtrex. This was 12 days ago.

I can work with you to get the western blot which is the gold standard test.  You can set that up by going to westoverheights.com and follow the link to "get a western blot"

Okay I will head over to your website!
Since the pcr came back negative would that mean there would likely be no virus on the mirror (as in there wasn’t any hsv in that sore weather it was hsv or the Valtrex doing it’s job) ? The pcr was taken an hour  after the mirror incident (just giving you a time frame on it all)IF I were to have HSV 2

Correct, no virus on the mirror so thus no risk to your child.

Oh thank you! :)
I have another question. I don’t have a current cold sore but I was brushing my teeth and I did touch my mouth. I did wash my hands after but not for long so I’m worried the virus could still be on hands because idk if I got the soap on all fingers (yay ocd ) then right after my daughter had to go potty so I put my daughters potty training seat on the toilet and touched part that she sides on. Can she get hsv this way?

Please respect my decision not to answer anymore of these questions  until you do accurate testing for HSV to see if we actually have a problem to worry about.  I'm closing this thread now and will not open it until you have western blot results for me.
