[Question #11888] Update on #11873

Dear Doctors, after the question I asked you about my case, after a week I find myself in a strange conditions with a more or less marked pain at the tip of the penis, I think the urethra. the glans is also slightly red but not always. all these symptoms are alternating, maybe for an hour I feel no discomfort and the next hour it reappears. I notice also that the tip of the glans is slightly swollen. no pain when urinating and for now no suspicious discharge.
what could it be due to? It is difficult not to trace it back to the episode described in the previous question, timing is simply perfect. I was told not to worry at all and that it would be impossible to catch any disease.

Welcome back but I'm sorry you found it necessary. Having carefully read your recent discussion with Dr. Hook, I'm afraid we can't help much further.
---
Clearly you have no STD. The redness and pain you report probably are psychological -- your worries magnifying minor symptoms or even normal body sensations that you otherwise would ignore or maybe not even notice. This also fits best with your on and off symptoms, which never are possible with infections or physical injury. (I agree with your comment about timing suggesting a relationship to the sexual event. Which also is consistent with a psychological origin.)
If the symptoms continue, feel free to see a physician for in person professional assessment. But I have no other advice on this issue.
Good luck to you.
