[Question #11912] Hsv2

Hi,
About 2 weeks ago I had a bump that was very itchy on my labia. I went to the doctor and I was positive for HSV2, this was confirmed by a PCR swab. It has been quite an emotional rollercoaster after my diagnosis. I know this is a primary outbreak because I did test negative on an IGG test 1 month prior.
Luckily my symptoms has been very mild, the bump went away after about 7-8 days. However after the bump was gone, I did feel some stinging and I cut see a extremly small microtear on the other labia. The doctor told me I also tested positive for ureaplasma and candida, so I do not know if that is due to that. However it did not feel like anything like my initial outbreak.
But that is not really why I am sending this message/question. I am very worried I contracted this orally. I felt some stinging in my nostril during my outbreak but it felt more like it was from some other irritation and not like my outbreak. But I have had some tingling in my lips. When my first initial outbreak blister was gone (on my labia) I did start feel that my lymph nodes in my neck was a bit swollen. This is where my panic started about...did I contract this orally too? Or would you expect some oral lesion If I did?
Do you think I can relax as long as I havent had a oral lesion?
Thank you

I am going to assume that you were also the giver of oral sex to the person who infected your genitally, is that why you are concerned? It is not possible to confirm a negative - that you are not infected orally - but I would assume you are not infected unless you have a lesion that presents itself in your nose or lip. And if you do develop a lesion, have it swab tested right away to sort this out.
Did the person who infected you tell you that they had HSV 2 prior to intercourse?

Yes, that is correct. I have have been around 5-6 people within 2 months. There was oral sex and normal vaginal sex some encounters, some was just genital to genital contact but no oral sex or penetrative sex, So I really guess there is no way for me to know. But I have noted them about my positive test. I feel pretty ashamed about this whole situation honestly and feel like I learned myself a lesson.
However I was wondering if you could give me some insight here:
However I was wondering if you could give me some insight here:
1. If I date someone in the future, is it okay to just disclose that I have HSV2 genitally because I never developed a lesion?
2. The tingles has been something I have struggled with and in my country, the doctors wont give me daily antivirals unless I have multiple outbreaks. If the tingle stops, can I have sex?
3. Some sites says that I have to wait a whole week for the scabs fall off, is this true? Or can I just wait when the scab falls off and my skin looks normal?

Also I dont know if you remember, but about 1,5 months ago I was with a guy who I gave only oral sex to for a brief moment, until I saw the scabs on his penis and he later tested positive for HSV2. I never developed any oral lesions after the encounter and I did a baseline IGG that was negative.
I waited a bit after that encounter until I met others after. I did disclose to them about what happened before. But because there was oral sex involved, could it be that I actually got it before and autincolated myself during sex?
Or is it just impossible to know? :( I am so angry at myself

1. You can disclose that you have genital HSV 2, yes. It is difficult to know when it is safe to have intercourse because you can be shedding the virus with no lesions. You should wait a while to have sex after scabs leave, but that's not a promise that you won't be shedding virus.
It isn't possible to know if you have this orally or not, but HSV 2 oral infection is normally quiet, recurs very infrequently and rarely sheds. So even if you have it, it would rarely be active.
