[Question #11913] Trich or something else?

Hello again -

I’d reached out earlier this week  (or last) and had a question addressed by Dr. Hook.  I was tested for Chlamydia/Gonorrhea and as advised I was negative.  Also tested for Trish but result isn’t in yet.  Initial diagnosis by Dr is yeast infection.  Have read online that condom is ineffective against Trich as it spreads skin to skin.  General itching has stopped but head of member is irritated at bottom only.  No other symptoms or issues.  No discharge.  Looking to experts for real scoop on likely hood of Trich infection when using protection.  Thx.

Welcome back to our Forum.  It's unfortunate that you did not believe me when I said "Condom protected penetrative sex is virtually no risk for HIV, gonorrhea, chlamydia and trichomonas.'  in the 2nd sentence of my reply to you two days ago.  The answer has not change in the interval.  We spend a large proportion of of time correcting mis-information found so readily on the internet- this is a good example.  I anticipate that your trich test will be negative.  If it is not, please let me know, it will be a first in my over 40 years of STI focused research and clinical practice.
