[Question #11940] street walker

Hi Doctor,
3 days ago i stupidly went back to a street walkers apartment in marbella spain.
i was very drunk and cannot 100% be sure what exactly happened, but my memory is as follows
both naked, french kissing with tongues, i fingered her and she got a dildo out assuming to use on me and i must have declined and used it on her, she masterbated me throughout and towards the end either put her finger or something else in my anus whilst masterbating me. i was using the dildo on her so it couldnt have been that particular one.
she did touch herself and then me with same hands, maybe one of those fingers in my anus....
i dont beleive we did anything else, although i was intoxicated im quite paranoid about std's and so on.
do i have any meaningful risk of std's includind hiv?
does this warrant testing ?
my anus feels strange , not pain but not as it was before the event, i had really loose stools this morning when i woke!
no discharge from my penis or painful urination.
look forward to hearing from you

Welcome to the Forum. Thanks for your questions. I'll be glad to comment. There is virtually no risk for STIs from the activities you describe and certainly no risk for HIV. French kissing and masturbation, with or without a dildo, are no risk activities and transfer of genital secretions on one person's hands/fingers to another is likewise a no risk event. From what you say I see no reason for testing although some of our clients, due to concerns about what they may or may not remember choose to test for the relief of anxiety that a negative test provides. If you choose to test, I would test for gonorrhea and chlamydia and would not be worried about HIV or syphilis. Testing for gonorrhea and chlamydia can be anticipated to provide reliable results any time more than 3-4 days after an exposure.
I hope this information is helpful. EWH

Thank you Dr Hook, before I go any further I just want to add yourself and Dr Hansfield I have followed for many years as I follow an interest in this field.
You are legends of this medical/scientific field and congratulate you both for your outstanding contribution.
So would it matter anymore if the fingers with vaginal secretions were immediately put into my anus if that’s what happened? surely anything bigger I would have felt being a straight as straight male can be and in a long term heterosexual relationship.
Maybe it was another smaller toy which i didn’t see, which could have been anywhere, would this make any difference, ie vagina to my anus ?
I know it’s all what if scenario’s, but I’m guessing it wouldn’t have been anything to cause any harm intentionally and was probably just a finger!
The test you refer to is that for penile or anal or both ?
Would soft stools and a odd sensation be a symptom or could it be just anxiety focused?
Thanks again.

Thanks for your thanks. We’re glad to be able to help.
The timing of transfer of secretions, whether or not on fingers or an inanimate object like a dildo makes no difference- still no risk. There is general agreement from the CDC, WHO, and expert consensus on this.
If you choose to test, I would test all sites of possible exposure including your rectum.
Soft stool are not a sign of infection. The odd rectal sensation could certainly reflect heightened awareness on your part as you look for signs. EWH

Thank you so much for your reply
Just to confirm from what I’ve explained,
1/. You see no real risk for the activities explained?
2/. Would you be happy for me to continue sex with my partner based on what young have read?
3/. If you were me with what you know, would you bother testing ?
Thanks and appreciate this is my last reply.

Straight to your follow up questions:
1. Correct
2. Also, correct, I would not be concerned about you continuing to have unprotected sex with your regular partner.
3. Testing is always a personal decision. From my perspective I see no medical reason for testing however
I hope the information I have provided has been helpful. As you know, we provide up to three responses to each clients question. As this is my third reply, this thread will be closed shortly without further responses. Take care. EWH.
