[Question #1195] Various worries about HIV and STDs

Dear Mr Handsfield,

1)Could you tell me if i could have contacted HIV/ Hepatitis b/c /Syphilis, or any other STD from the following cases?
Some months ago, in my job, i cut my finger through a paper, and later i touched the bare arm of a co-worker. But i don't remember if there was any blood in his arm.

A long time ago, i visited the toilet of my job. But i forgot to flush the toilet bowl, and some water which contained urine from a previous user, splashed to my anus. I am not sure if there was blood or semen in the toilet bowl, from a previous user.

Sometimes i get my fingers and toes cut, from various surfaces, during work, visiting grocery stores, in the beach etc

Again, a few months ago, in my office in the job, i touched a very tiny rounded object. I squeezed it, and a very small quantity of red liquid leaked. Im not sure if it was blood.

I live with my sister, and sometimes she hosts in our apartment, her friends. I am worried if any of them uses my comb, my beard trimmer, my nail clipper, my toothbrush,  my towel, or even my bedsheet,  during my absence.

2)Is it possible to get  Hiv/Hepatitis b/c / or any other STd by a needle stick by a discarded needle in a beach?

1) There is absolutely no risk of any STD, of HIV, or of any other blood borne infections from events like this.

2) Injury by a discarded injection needle could carry some risk of HIV, but only if the needle had been recently used and still had wet blood inside the needle. The risk might be slighly higher for hepatitis B or C, but still very low. If you have actually been injured by such a needle, see a doctor for personal advice. But if you're only worried about such an injury and don't really know, then you can be certain it didn't happen.

This question and both your previous show evidence of abnormal obsession with nonexistant health risks. As I replied in closing your previous thread, your comments suggest a need for professional mental health counseling. Nobody normally worries about things like this.

Repetative, anxiety driven questions are not permitted. This thread will be closed as I submit this reply. Do not post any more. Any new threads from you will be deleted without reply, and without refund of the posting fee. The forum has this policy to protect anxious persons from themselves -- i.e. to not permit repeated posting fees for questions whose answers are obvious and will not change. In addition, such questions have no educational value for other users, which is one of the main reasons for the forum.

Best wishes. Please seriously consider my advice about professional counseling.
