9 january 2024, i went to get lip filler to a place in France, it is not a clinic and the person is not a doctor but a estheticist. i did not see her unpacking, i only saw the package once opened with syringe & 2 needles. she did my lips, after i started panicking about hiv (i do that a lot) but continued with my life. 3 days later had unprotected sex with longterm boyfriend. that night i was sweating a lot and he woke up with red dots on chest that faded within the day. 2 weeks later he had headache and swollen lyñph node in chin. i went to a lab for a 4 gen test with neg resut. 6 weeks after exposure i repeated the test and got a neg result. On april 9 after my bf got a haircut he haad swollen visible lymph node behind his neck (its still there now and gets a bit swollen after every haircut nut has gotten smaller), april 13 i had sore throat and runny nose, 2 days later my bf got the same, throat ache went away fast but he had runny nose for a moth. may 8 he got sick with sore throat and runny nose for 4 days, then better but tired for a week. during these months i notices a lymph node in his groin sometimes visible sometimes not. Since July he sometimes has little red spots that are not flat in his chest that disappear within hours. he told me since January he needs to pee more often, but recently stopped doing so. I panicked and did a lot of 4 gen lab tests in 2 labs : 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 7 and a half moths after, all neg with index lower than 0,2. I also got ARN PCR HIV1&2 test (undetected). But on april 26 i had a blood test with lower than normal neutrophiles. Im scared of being elite controller with low but detectable viral load within the first weeks that made me infect my bf but not produce enough ab for the test.

during the first weeks i got night sweats and defecated multiple times a day, in June i had an urinary infection that lasted a bit and got some weird purple little spots on my legs. I also did syphilis and hep b and c lab tests after three months (all negative). I dont know how can i move past this. I have multiple questions : 1/ does a proviral adn hiv test detects hiv even in elite controllers with a really low viral load since the beginning of the infection ? maybe that will calm me down 2/ what is the detection threshold for ab in 4 gen lab tests ? if i knew that they detect abs produced by infections with a viral load of 1500 (i believe this is the threshold to be contagious) then i will be calm because i would know that it would be almost impossible for me to have infected my bf . I know these tests are really reliable but since my bf has had all of these crazy symptoms i am really freaking out for the last 8 months, i just want to continue with my life. Thanks for your questions.  You acknowledge that you tend to worry a lot about HIV and I believe that the situation you describe above is an example of this.  There is no reason to think that you might have been infected with HIV by the esthetician whom you saw in January and the list of signs and symptoms that you describe in both you and your boyfriend are the sorts of things that most people get from time to time.  I think you are noticing normal variations and mistakenly attributing them to HIV.  ---
