I am male, my condom broke during vaginal exposer with African cws, I found it at end of encounter so basically don't know how long unprotected sex last.day1- encounter, day 21-rapid 3rd gen,day 28- 4th gen eclia,day 40-4th gen eclia, day101- rapid 3rd gen, day147 -4th gen eclia do this because after reading thread found you have much confidence in 4th gen. then move on with life. but the on day150 below happen, day 150 (5 month) - have fever, body pain, muscle pain , full body rash ( on shoulder , trunk, torso, leg) then my mind blow & i think i got it, become stressed. this is ars & i am rare case. never have rash in entire life, day151- low grade fever( reduce with paracetamol), day153- fever gone & rash last till Day-158,Day-156 -4th gen eclia& RRR, then pressure relief, but confuse with your mix comment about ars & test time, in some post you mention after one or two day of symptoms, in some you mention after week of onset,in some you mention with in 10 day(health tap), ag portion pickup ars for hiv1 understand but what about hiv2 antibody? why i have symptoms ? today day 175 - need other test?, all test was non-reactive serum at lab, blood drawn from vain.

1. I didn’t have sex with my wife till now & post our second baby planning, my wife dough my behaviour, I am crying ever day.

2. I have 3 year old baby i am mentioning distance from my baby as fear I dont want pay my family for my mistake.

3. what to do now ?

4. if you say no worry then what if more ars symptoms have in future?

Welcome to our forum. Thanks for your questions and for your confidence in our service. I’ll be glad to comment. You’ve tested on multiple occasions. When the results of your tests are absolutely conclusive, proving that you did not acquire HIV. The signs and symptoms that you were describing are not only consistent with the ARS, which you have proven, you do not have, but also with influenza, COVID-19, and a long list of other Common, non-STI viral infections. You do not have HIV.

In response to your specific:

1. You need to move on. You have proven you do not have HIV. There is no reason to avoid unprotected sex with your wife.

2. Your child is not at risk. Even if you had HIV which you do not, casual every day contact with your child would not put them at risk.

3. It is time for you to put your fears of HIV aside and move on. You have proven you do not have HIV.

4. Your symptoms are among the symptoms which occur with the ARS however, the same symptoms are also caused with a wide variety of other non-STI viral infections. In scientific studies when persons who are at risk for HIV and have symptoms, such as yours, less than one percent turn out to have HIV. The others have other far more common non-STI viral infections.

Please don’t worry. You do not have HIV. There is no need for further testing. There is no need to avoid unprotected sex with your wife. EWH

Thank you sir, you are like god to me,

1. My worry is my symptoms start at day 150(5month) & test on day 156 (6 day after symptoms start), but I review some thread in you say if symptoms were ars test after one or two day, few day after symptoms , drHHH say some time presence of symptoms test negative mean no ars , some time say after week of symptoms, some time say with in 10 days(read on healthtap) so I am confuse, so test on 156 day prove symptoms were not ars or need to wait for 3 week after symptoms if there was hiv2,due to 4^th gen test not have ag for Hiv2. I guess you say I don’t have hiv but please clarify this to me , also both of you also say that ars cannot happen after 1 month, so this also apply to for hiv 2 & delay seroconversion people.

2. What if any kind of ars symptoms occur with me in future then I have to test for it or not. (that was my first and last exposer apart from personal life)

3. So as per you reply I can assume that in future I don’t need to test of any kind means after 1 year or 2 year or even 4 year or 10 year if I need to test for hive due to like any future pre operation surgery like wise then it is 10000% sure it will be negative (assuming no future exposer)

4.I am form india here very few hiv expert say need to test at 6 month for 100% free, cause there were rare cases in literature.

5.It is possible who were rare case fill symptoms at 5month.

6.You personally see any one hetro male who got hiv from just one time unprotected vaginal sex. ( this answer will put me in permanent relief)

I know you might say repetitive question but please please answer this question each, so I can put this permanently behind me & do my second baby planning.

so there is still less the 1% chance for me or this is for whom who not test out side window period??

The ARS does not occur more than 30 days after acquisition of HIV. The onset of your symptoms is far far too late to be due to HIV. As I’ve already said, there is no need for further testing, now or in the future, related the exposures you are concerned about.

The ARS is due to the interaction of the HIV virus and antibodies. As a result, when symptoms are present tests are always positive. All of this is irrelevant in your situation as it is too late for your symptoms to be the ARS and you have already proven conclusively that you don’t have HIV.

Your other follow up questions are repetitive. It appears that you have been misinformed. Please stay off the internet. It will mislead you.

You have one follow up remaining and then the thread will be closed. You should not return after your next follow up. EWH

1. I need no testing for hiv whatever symptoms i may have in future right as i dont have it, it is proven

2. I can do baby planing with my wife as you told i have unprotected sex now.

3. So final question is as i test on day147 (after6 week as per window) and symptoms start at day 150, so i dont need to test on 156 day as i did it was west of money and time , as 147 day test prove i dont have it any symptoms whether it look like ars after it no need to test for it.

As you know, these will be my final responses. Before I answer however, let me correct some mis-information that you may have gotten. When persons are experiencing the ARS, they ALWAYS have positive tests, starting at the time the symptoms occur. As I've said before, your negative tests PROVE that your symptoms were not due to HIV.

Personally, I have never had a patient who acquired HIV from a single episode of heterosexual vaginal intercourse. The average risk for infection through heterosexual genital-genital sex is less than 1 in 2000, i.e. following a single exposure to a person KNOWN to have HIV (you do not know your partner's status) chances are more than 99.9% that you would NOT become infected.
