[Question #12126] Chlamydia treatment
|
I was tested 9 days post exposure for gonorrhea and Chlamydia. I took 1g azithromycin on day 5 post exposure. I tested negative for both. My exposure was unprotected oral sex at a brothel in Germany. My question is that would my test still be positive 5 days after treatment?

I meant to say I was treated on day 5 post exposure with 1g azithromycin and I was tested on day 9 post exposure and received negative results for Chlamydia and gonorrhea. Wouldn't I be still positive if I was really positive 5 days after treatment? I have read a lot in Google and they all say even after treatment I would get positive results for 3 to 4 weeks.

Welcome back to the Forum. I’m not sure why you are back with this repetitive question. I have nothing to add to my assessment of your prior low risk exposure. If you were infected you your infection would be positive.
Please do not worry about the misinformation that is so common on the internet.
You need to relax. EWH

Thank you sir but I promise you one last question and after that I won't bother you. If I was truly infected with Chlamydia then I would test positive 5 days after treatment right?

Possibly but not necessarily. In some persons with chlamydia tests might be negative as soon as five days after treatment. EWH---
