Hi! So I get cold sores so I take daily Valtrex. I don’t currently have one. Yesterday I was changing  my toddlers diaper and I’m worried I touched around my lips or touched my lip before I closed the wipes lid. And you know how sometimes you have to shove the top of the wipe back in because it tries to come out with the wipe beforehand? I’m worried the virus could have gotten on the wipe because my mother In law changed her about 1 1/2 to 2 hours later. Could this be a way of transferring the virus to her bottom? From
The wipe I touched before hand?

With no cold sore present and such very little contact, I suspect there is very close to zero risk of transmission in this scenario, honestly.  If I were in your situation, I would not be worrying about this.

Thank you! What about if I didn’t touch my mouth just breathed on my hand through my nose and then touched the wipe? Could it be a risk this way?

Thank you! My mother in law just got over a cold sore. It looks like it’s completely gone. She washed her hands and put my daughter on the toilet. She said she wouldn’t pee so she turned on the faucet to help her for some reason. Then she help her wipe. So now I’m worried that there might have been some virus in the faucet because she touched it again too turn it on and then helped my daughter wipe. Do you think it could transfer this way? ( If she had touched her lip before she washed her hands so now it was in the faucet )

That worry about the faucet is not a way that HSV would be transmitted.
