[Question #12171] Confused need help

In feb 2024 I fingered a girl with hangnails. I also received an unprotected bj. Nothing else
A few days after she tested negative with a rapid alere 4th gen.
I have had a lot of symptoms, thrush, mouth sores, body aches etc.
I have tested negative with rapid alere 4th gen and several third gen insti every month since the exposure.
This past Monday morning I woke up at 3am sweating. This scared me.
After lunch I went and had both another insti and an alere rapid 4th gen. Both were negative.
1. Does the night sweat sound concerning?
2. Can ARS start at 8 months after a risk?
3. Do I need more tests to rule out ars or hiv?
4. When can I move on without fear of infecting anyone?

I also tested negative for hcv and syphillis. My doctor prescribed antibiotics because my testicle hurt. He said they would stop climidia and gonnerea.
Finally I did kiss her breast and mouth.

Welcome back to the Forum. Thanks for your questions. In preparing to reply I note that you have used different e-mail addresses for 3 out of 4 of your questions. I wonder why?
The encounter you describe did not put you are risk for HIV and is close to no risk for other STIs. Your testing proves that you did not acquire HIV- it's time to relax and stop testing. No one has ever acquired HIV from receipt of oral sex and masturbation of another person is also a no risk event for all STIs including HIV- the presence of a hang nail does not change that. In reply to your specific questions:
1. Does the night sweat sound concerning?
No. Night sweats are non-specific and have many causes
2. Can ARS start at 8 months after a risk?
No- no one gets the ARS more than 30 days after an exposure
3. Do I need more tests to rule out ars or hiv?
Absolutely not
4. When can I move on without fear of infecting anyone?
Yes
Kissing her breasts and deep kissing does not put you at risk for STI. Your tests for syphilis and hepatitis C are also conclusive. You really can move forward without concern. EWH

Dr. Hook,
Thank you. To follow up.
1. It’s not possible that my night sweat at 9 months post risk was ARS. Please confirm.
2. Regardless, Did my test taken this past Monday, (9 months post risk) hours after night sweat rule out ARS even if it was just an insti antibody test (for both hiv 1 and 2)?
I actually had an insti and an alere rapid ab/ag.
3. Can I now sleep with my wife unprotected?
4. Can I stop testing for hiv?
5. Have I ruled out both hiv and full blown aids?
5. Am I really just needing counseling?
Thanks

You did not answer my question as to why you have repeatedly signed in from different email addresses. This hinders out ability to provide you with helpful information. In reply to your questions:
1. It’s not possible that my night sweat at 9 months post risk was ARS. Please confirm.
Correct. There is no way that night sweats 9 months after an encounter represent the ARS
2. Regardless, Did my test taken this past Monday, (9 months post risk) hours after night sweat rule out ARS even if it was just an insti antibody test (for both hiv 1 and 2)?
I actually had an insti and an alere rapid ab/ag.
Yes this confirms what I said above. This was not the ARS
3. Can I now sleep with my wife unprotected?
Yes
4. Can I stop testing for hiv?
Yes
5. Have I ruled out both hiv and full blown aids?
Yes
5. Am I really just needing counseling
Yes, you are worrying far more than you need to
You have one follow-up remaining. EWH

Dr. Hook
The reason I used different names is I have had problems logging in so it seemed easier just to start anew.
So Monday November 4th I had a sore on my tongue. Tuesday I went and had a rapid alert 4th gen test. It was negative. This was almost 10 months from the incident.
Yesterday I had a white speck where I had thrush several months ago(it was treated by a dr back in march) I picked it off with my finger.
My questions are:
Considering yesterday can I stop testing regardless of mouth white speck?
Is almost 10 months definitely to late to be ARS?
Can I have unprotected sex with my wife?
Can ignore future mouth issues (even if it’s a coating or thrush) as being linked to hiv infection?
Am I truly negative?
Should I trust the tests and stop thinking everything is hiv?
I guess the real problem is after each hiv test some minor thing presents and I think I need more tests. What are your thoughts? Can I let this go and move on?
Thank you Doctor.

You reduce our ability to assist you by making your prior questions unavailable. Irrespective, this will be my final response. There should be no need to return following this reply. As said before, your testing PROVES that you did not acquire HIV from your virtually no risk encounter. Your mouth speck does not change this assessment in anyway. Test results always out way symptoms. You do not need more testing. Additional testing is a was of time and resources.

You are repeating your questions. The answers will not change:
Considering yesterday can I stop testing regardless of mouth white speck?
yes
Is almost 10 months definitely to late to be ARS?
Yes
Can I have unprotected sex with my wife?
Yes
Can ignore future mouth issues (even if it’s a coating or thrush) as being linked to hiv infection?
Yes
Am I truly negative?
Yes
Should I trust the tests and stop thinking everything is hiv?
Yes
You need to figure out a way to move forward. To do so, you do not need more testing or to return to our Forum. Please consider profesional counseling to help you move forward from your guilt and unwarranted anxiety.
Your prior antibiotics do not change this assessment. If you had hepatitis B or C it would not change my assessment
