[Question #12186] More hsv1 questions

I talked about my new cold sore this morning. I have a few more questions (sorry I hope it’s okay ) i figured I better pay for more questions since I asked a bunch of questions on my last post. I was putting on my daughters toilet seat attachment  and talking at the same time. So I’m worried by talking that the virus could get on the seat by possibly small spit particles landing it and then her sitting on it. And then another question… I was getting ready earlier at my bathroom sink and later on my daughter was playing at the bathroom sink and then used the bathroom so I’m worried the virus could have gotten on her fingers then her bottom when she went potty. Should I worry about these incidents?

And I only ask the toilet question because she does slide on and off the seat because she is so small still

Spittle with talking doesn't get on the toilet seat enough to infect anyone.  HSV really does need far more direct contact to infect someone, but I think you know that in your heart of hearts.  Nothing you would do will infect your precious child.  I know this is a huge fear for you, but you really need to trust me on this, please.

Thank you! I am trying so hard to just remember that. But my mind doesn’t let me most of the time. So if spit or something landed on her thigh while I was talking to her she would be okay? I rarely see spit fly out when I talk but it does make me nervous because it has happened before.. So I would pretty much have to kiss her for it to spread right?

Or what if spit did come out when I was taking by the toilet and she rubbed her bottom on it? I’m asking because I was talking today and spit landed on my arm so maybe it does come out more than I think :(

When I change her pull up ( we are still working on potty training) i hold my breath because I’m worried about spreading the virus to her bottom by breathing on her or breathing on the wipes and thinking saliva will come out while I breathe. Or I don’t dare talk while changing her..: is this possible with having a current cold sore?

Sorry I have another one to add. I touched my coldsore when i was putting on chap stick and then I put on lotion on my hands... about 30 mins later my toddler came up and sat by me and my hands touched her leg where she has a scratch. Do you think the virus would still be on my hand like 30 mins later and be able to infect her?

Also, after about 20 mins of touching my cold sore I opened a sucker for my toddler. Can she get the virus this way?

if spit landed on her thigh, she would be fine.  The thigh is too thick for virus to penetrate.  Breathing on her would not infect her.  The chap stick incident is not a risk at all.  Nor is opening a sucker.

This will be our last post on this thread.
