[Question #12190] HIV unprotected oral scrape wound

Received unprotected oral sex from a female yesterday.  Unknown status.  Today I woke up and noticed what looks like a small wound on penis shaft that is red, sore and tender. Seems like a scrape wound from teeth. Never saw blood.  No biting was involved. What is risk for HIV? Should I be concerned?

Welcome back. However, this is your fifth time with versions of the same question:  HIV risk from exposures known to be zero risk (oral sex, lap dances, tooth injury through clothing, and the like). As before, this was zero risk. You've also been told how rare HIV is in women of the sort you have described in these questions. You should not be concerned about HIV and do not need to be tested for it.

Ok, thanks, understood, can you explain why?  Wouldn’t have thought twice about it if not for the wound.

The biological reasons are not well known and have not been studied. But there have been few or no proved case of HIV transmitted oral to penis, and there must have been millions of such exposures in which there was a small bite or tooth mark -- and still no known cases. Also few or no known cases of HIV transmitted by biting. And HIV is rare in females in the US and that saliva kills HIV. But since there are no known cases, what does it matter?

Repeated questions on of the same type or on the same topic are not permitted. This being your fifth along these lines, it will have to be your last. Future questions on these topics and your inflated fears will receive no reply and the posting fee will not be refunded. This policy is based on compassion, not criticism, and is intended to reduce temptations to keep paying for questions with obvious answers. In addition, experience shows that continued answers tend to prolong users' anxieties rather than reducing them. Finally, such questions have little educational value for other users, one of the forum's main purposes. Thanks for your understanding.
