[Question #12193] Ureaplasma or something else

Hello doctors, I had an oral exposure on October 4th. I have tested negative for gonorrhea, chlamydia, trich, m gen. I still feel urinary discomfort and slight minor discharge. My wbc in in my urine is high. The only test I haven't done is urea plasma. Do you think it would be UU or it could be prostate related? I'm sorry to be bugging you again but I got my results so I wanted to just clarify. Thank you in advance.

I'm saddened to see you return a 4th time in less than 3 weeks following your very low risk exposure, azithromycin ingestion, and negative tests. You must be feeling very guilty. Your reference to Ureaplasma suggests to me that you have been wasting your time on the internet, an activity which is far, far more likely to mislead you than to help. Ureaplasma is not a pathogen and is normally found in the the genital tracts of many people. Testing for Ureaplasma would be a waste of time.
I'll repeat my prior suggestion that if your symptoms continue you should seek evaluation by a urologist. This site has nothing more to offer to you. EWH

Thank you for your reply sir. Last question before I close this chapter. Can ureaplasma be acquired by oral sex? And what do you think is the reason for high wbc in urinalysis?

No, ureaplasma is not typically found in the mouth.
As I've told you, the WBCs in your urine are not due to an STI- you have proven this. I do not know what is causing them. That's part of the reason I suggested you see a urologist.
You have one follow-up remaining. After that, the thread will be closed. Future questions regarding this exposure may not be answered and your posting fee will be forfeited. EWH

You are right interest is all crazy and scary. Everywhere in internet it says ureaplasma is easily transmitted via oral sex and that's why I was anxious. Absolute last question from me . Do you think anything STD wise is causing elevated wbc in urinalysis? Thanks so much

This is an entirely repetitive question. I’m not sure why you would think that my answer would change by repeating your question when I have already told you on multiple occasions that there is no evidence that you have an STI.
Suggestions that ureaplasma is related to sexually transmitted infections were proven through careful studies to be incorrect over 50 years ago. Nonetheless this information persists on the Internet. It is for that sort of experience that we encourage our clients not to seek information on the Internet as so much of it is misleading and there is no way to tell what is correct and what is not. I have explained this to you as well in the past yet you persist in doing this.
Final reply. There is no evidence that you have an STI. There is nothing to suggest that the white blood cells seen in your urine are related to an STI. I have suggested repeatedly that you see a urologist to try to sort this out.
This completes this thread. Should you return to the forum with additional questions regarding this encounter or these laboratory tests your question may be answered and your fee will not be returned. You need to move forward and stop worrying about STI’s. EWH.
