On September 9th I performed unprotected oral sex on a women and finger her(nothing else)2-3 Days later I got Flu Like symptoms mild fever, chills, fatigue and my right tonsil was swollen with mild sore throat.my lips were very dry and would burn also, don't know if that's because they are chapped.  Went to the doctors on September 14 and did a Urine test for chlymadia/ gonnerhea and blood test for syphilis everything came negative. Went back 2 days later and did a swab of my throat and tested for gonnerhea/chymadia and strep throat came back negative. My symtons got a little better but still my lips would dry out and burn.right tonsil was still swollen with red throat. I went back to the doctors on September 18th and did a igG test for HSV 1 & 2 came back negative. It's September 23 and still have one swollen tonsil with mild sore throat, i have been viewing my throat and lips no blister or anything out of the ordinary, I've been viewing it everyday since the unprotected sex, I can't find anything. I have been paranoid about having HSV 2 orally.  Or even HSV 1 orally. It's been 2 weeks since the unprotected oral sex, however no blister yet.

So it's really too early for any accurate herpes testing, as you probably know.  By my calculations, it wasn't even two weeks past the contact that you did the IgG test.  However, having said that, HSV 2 orally is uncommon.  HSV 2 doesn't like the mouth area (we don't know why) and so not often shows up there.  Let me ask - have you ever in your life had a cold sore on your lip?  If yes, then you already have HSV orally and are probably less likely to acquire another type in the same location - the research is a bit mixed on that.  Let me know.

I have never had cold sores ever. Do these symtoms sound like HSV 1 or 2? Also what are the chance of catching HSV 1 & 2 from cununlingus? I heard it's pretty rare but I don't know. I have developed a clear, round dome shaped bubble on the top of my throat near the tonsi. It's not that big, the size of a small pimple it's clear shaped almost looks like a Mucous bubble? There is only one. Does that sound like a herpes blister or lesion?

I think the chances of acquiring HSV 1 or 2 from giving oral sex is low; we don't have statistics about that however.  You know, lots of people get those bubbles, myself included.  To know for certain if it might be herpes, I would suggest having it swab tested.

Thank you very much for your help. I was going to have it swabbed but it went away in less then a day, figured herpes wouldn't disappear that quick. Showed my doctors a picture of it and he said it doesn't look like herpes because it's a single vessel and they would usually show up in cluster of vessels. It's now day 18 since the the unprotected oral sex, do you think I'm safe now since there are no blister or lesions and should I get tested again in 3 months? Thanks and best regards.

I would agree that it would be unlikely for a herpes lesions to go away that quickly - whew, that is very fast!  If you can relax about this, then I honestly don't think testing is necessary, from a medical standpoint.  I think herpes is very unlikely.  But if you cannot feel reassured, then test - false positives are not common and if there is any hint that you have one, I'll help you learn how to sort it out.
