[Question #12201] Sharing of Drinks/Food
|
Hello, I'm just looking for final clarification on something so that I can move on... as something was unclear on a previous post. I was told that environmental and/or non-intimate contact are no risk for transmission of HIV or other bloodborne viruses. I'm trying to make sure that the sharing of drinks and/or food with an HIV infected friend would be no risk for transmission. This is my only remaining concern. Thank you for your time.

I'm going to just repeat my closing statement from your recently closed thread:
Please note that repeated questions are subject to being deleted without reply and without refund of the posting fee. We're not keen on collecting fees for questions with obvious answers; repeated replies often prolong anxiety rather than relieving it (there's so often a "yes but" or "could I be the exception" sort of thinking); and such questions have reduced education value for other users, one of the forum's goals. Thank you for your understanding. I do hope that from your five discussions, you now understand that HIV simply is never a risk from the environment or non-intimate personal contact with infected persons. These are facts known since the first 6 months of the epidemic back around 1980.
This question is exactly the kind of thing that reply refers to. From that statement, it is obvious that sharing food or drinks is never a risk for HIV. There will be no further discussion and this thread is closed. Future similar questions will be deleted without even this much reply.
