I’m just adding to my last post I hope that is okay. My coldsore is about gone. It’s tiny now on my lower lip. I was talking with my toddler while changing her pull. So little spit that may come out while I talk can’t infect her if it lands on her bottom area?  ( I didn’t see spit fly out but worried about small particles)

And then if my mouth touches a blanket or a shirt with a current cold sore that doesn’t make the fabric infectious right? 

That's correct. any little spit that comes out of your mouth while talking will no infect your toddler.  And correct again, fabric will not transmit HSV.---
