[Question #12264] 4th generation

Hello Drs,
I had recently asked a few questions about a protected (pretty sure as I was drunk but remember the condom on) exposure I had a CSW on Oct 12. I took 2 doses of PEP and stopped on Oct 16. I tested negative w a PCR 20 days later (Nov 8) and was told that would be conclusive. Anxiety continues to get the best of me and decided to get a 4th Gen done today. Will the combination of PCR and 4th Gen be considered conclusive at this point? How precise is the PCR as I know previously you all recommended the 4th Gen at 6 weeks as final. I’m considering another PCR as well. Would that be conclusive. I desperately want to move on from this nightmare. I can’t shake that I may be your first person to report positive. Thank you for all you do.

The concluding statement in your previous thread:

That concludes this thread. Repeated questions are not permitted, especially when anxiety driven. This being your second, it must be your last. Such questions may be deleted without reply and without refund of the posting fee. This policy is based on compassion, not criticism, and is intended to reduce temptations to keep paying for questions with obvious answers. In addition, experience shows that continued answers tend to prolong users' anxieties rather than reducing them. Finally, such questions have little educational value for other users, one of the forum's main purposes. Thanks for your understanding.

Because it is impossible you acquired HIV, the PEP has had no effect on your HIV test results. Any test at any time is proof you were not infected. I would consider your currently planned tests to be conclusive. There is no way you are going to be our first forum user to have acquired HIV.

There will be no discussion and any new questions about these events and your HIV testing plans will be deleted without even this much reply.
