Hello Terri thanks for your replies, I am back from the same encounter still have a fee more questions , and something important that I wonder if maybe means more that I may have herpes not too sure. So since either last Sunday or Monday( 9 or 10 days ago) I started observing my penis about 3 times a day or more looking out for blisters. So there was this one white type looking bump possibly that worried me a bit, and some on shaft, the ones on shaft I believe have always been there, so wasn’t too worried. So last Wednesday I went to a dermatologist, and he inspected the penis fully, said those bumps were just a continuation of penile pupiles, which I almost knew, since I had them for years. But that one little bump looking thing, he said nothing about it. He inspected my penis, and said there is nothing there, that it is just in my head, and to come back if I notice any bumps. On Friday I felt like it got a little bigger(2 days after appointment) and now 6 days since it seems to just be there , and looks slightly smaller. There is no redness around it, I know it’s dumb , but I have been touching it like crazy to see if it hurts, no pain, or any sort of oozing. No crusting or anything. It’s been 11 days already since I started observing my penis and noticed it. If I didn’t use my zoom in camera on my phone I am 99% sure it would be missed. I know you can’t say without looking at it, if that bump is a lesion or not. But I went to dermatologist and he looked with a magnifying glass type of instrument, and observed my whole penis, 3 different times. Since I asked if he can look once more. I even had to call out of work that day to go  see him. So I never had a chance to go back. Does this sound like a lesion to you? All my symptoms have left btw and it just seems to be there, it’s non raised. I’m wondering if it can be some sort of friction from condom use lubes etc. and I am wondering if some how the dermatologist missed it? What do you think?

Also I am only 4 weeks into the encounter, I will obviously be on the lookout for any sores/blisters. But waiting 8 weeks sounds so dreadful, but guess would have no other choice
2) can you tell me more about the western blood test? How does one acquire this test? I thought most medical places only do the normal test
3)I see alot about herpes affecting the anal region as well? I fins myself having some itchyness there, and some discomfort when doing number 2. Can you tell me more about why one would get symptoms there? Is that just how the virus acts, or is that normally for people who have anal sex or get eaten out there?
4) my dermatologist thought I was overthinking it and said if I want he would give me a blood test, for my peace of mind only, not because he thought it was necessary, this is the second doctor that seems to not want me to get it. I even saw Doctor Handsfield not recommend it? Why are these test out there, if many think they are not really good, I am super confused on this topic, many people online are saying they got false positives on it before. Doesnt that seem like a horrible test to have out? I wanted to get one at 8 weeks out, but I am terrified now, I feel I may just keep waiting for any lesions

Most places only do the IgG that is correct.  the western blot is done only at the University of Washington and you can work with you own provider or me to get that test.

The virus can show up anywhere in the boxer shorts area, regardless of location of first infection.  Itching alone is probably NOT herpes.

The reason it is not recommended is the high rate of false positives.  If you did the IGG and it was positive, you would need to confirm with western blot

Nothing you have said sounds anything like herpes to me.  I agree with your dermatologist that you are overthinking this.

Good afternoon Doctor , I am feeling alot better, but still want to ask a few more questions to make sure I have everything completely understood, the anxiety over this has made me lose a lot of sleep, and drink more to help me sleep. And I don’t want to go down a rough route like that especially not over this. I think I will take up on your suggestion and ask my doctor about the western blot, unfortunately the 12 week mark is still 7 1/2 weeks away. So I will continue to look out for blisters until then. 1) with that being said I am happy you gave me good advice about getting the western blot, but it also worries me a bit? Are you recommending it because you think I can possibly have gotten it from these events, or more for peace of mind? 2)If I continue up to the 12 week mark without blisters, do you think that is a good sign I was not infected from these two encounters?
3) you explained the aborted prodome, but you don’t think I could have experienced that?
4) you stated on the last thread that the symptoms are lasting to long, that are not usual to herpes, can you please elaborate a bit more on that ?
5) if I read correctly you are stating that all herpes outbreaks, should end up developing blisters?
6) can you tell me more about the average amount of outbreaks you have seen in person, how do they usually tend to look or be? Do they look the same for both genital hsv1 and 2?

7) I have also had some redness under my throat, a little to almost under chest, could that be herpes or hiv related, like maybe my body is fighting an infection, I believe it has come and gone

8) With the stools I have also had burning and irritation, in the past I have had issues there, so Hoping it is just that, can you elaborate more on how anal herpes would attack

I would only recommend it for peace of mine

2)If I continue up to the 12 week mark without blisters, do you think that is a good sign I was not infected from these two encounters?
An excellent sign!

3) you explained the aborted prodome, but you don’t think I could have experienced that?
No,I don't.  Normally, we see that with people who definitely have herpes and have recurrences.

4) you stated on the last thread that the symptoms are lasting to long, that are not usual to herpes, can you please elaborate a bit more on that ?
Normally, people with a new herpes infection would have symptoms within 2-10 days.

5) if I read correctly you are stating that all herpes outbreaks, should end up developing blisters?
Well, outbreaks, by definition, involve lesions.  People can have herpes without having outbreaks.

6) can you tell me more about the average amount of outbreaks you have seen in person, how do they usually tend to look or be? Do they look the same for both genital hsv1 and 2?
People with HSV 2 have an average of 2-6 outbreaks per year, people with HSV 1, about an outbreak every other year, after the first year.  They look identical for HSV 1 and 2.

7) I have also had some redness under my throat, a little to almost under chest, could that be herpes or hiv related, like maybe my body is fighting an infection, I believe it has come and gone

No, that's not herpes

8) With the stools I have also had burning and irritation, in the past I have had issues there, so Hoping it is just that, can you elaborate more on how anal herpes would attack

Anal herpes would present with lesions as well.

Hello again, Since this is my final question I just want to make sure everything was understood correctly, and want to ask a few questions to see the risks because this is of course something that will probably continue to happen , and this thread can help me alot to come back to. 1) the symptoms I felt I started getting was 12 days after the only unprotected receiving of oral encounter, and 9 days after the unprotected oral, but protected Anal(I was top) going back to question 4 on the last post, I am not sure if you were confused by that. 2) I think maybe I worded it wrong in a sense. I meant more like could I have developed prodome , or symptoms that herpes usually gives and not develop any blisters? Do you think that could be the case here? 3)If am indeed negative of both once I test, if for every encounter I use protected condom for both oral and anal/vaginal how likely is it for me to get infected. 4) is there something for herpes that is like prep for hiv, such as taking antivirals for encounters. 5) could hsv show up in anal area and on another outbreak on the shaft? Or does it generally develop blisters/ symptoms on the same spots 6) how long after a new encounter , with no obvious symptoms, would you think some one may be in the clear of infection? 7) I also have a gf. But we have been using condoms for the last 3 months for pregnancy, do you think it would be safe to presume unprotected sex with her in terms of herpes from these encounters 8)I know the blisters can sometimes be small, but generally if you are someone that is looking at your penis 3-5 times a day every inch, would it usually be easy to see the blisters, or do you need a magnifying glass or zoom in camera? I tend to notice more stuff with zoom camera. Seems crazy how you notice things when you actually look, what is your take on this 9) similar to last question with your patients that do develop outbreaks, is it easy for you to spot with the naked eye?

10) I apologize for this one final question completely forgot about this. I have been taking 2,000-3,000 mg of L-lysine a day the past two, three weeks does that actually help with genital herpes if one does indeed have it ?

Manny, you have used up all of your questions/posts.  You get three per interaction.  I feel like I've offered you all the help that I can on this topic but if you feel the need to post more question, you'll need to start a new thread, like all others on this application.
