[Question #12295] Possible syphilis symptom?

Hello doctors, I hate to return but noticed a small red bump on the underside of my penis. It is not oozing and had a small hair sticking out of it, but after the unprotected skin to skin contact I had I worried.
Is this possibly a syphilis chancre as a result of me and another man rubbing our penises together (on the 16th of this month).
I am finding conflicting advice regarding frottage (rubbing two penises together) and the risk of STI’s and my primary care doctor has my worry elevated.

Follow up to my initial question—would one easily recognize a chancre? Obviously I have a heightened sense of checking my self but I just can’t tell if this is just skin irritation or a real risk of infection.

For clarification it on the underside shaft of my penis. To my knowledge the openings of our penises (meatus I believe it was referred to as) did not touch, just our shafts rubbing together.

I apologize doctors, i realize I am likely just in a state of anxiety/guilt driven hyper awareness. I will try to move on from this without concern and chalk it up to normal skin irritation unless you advise otherwise.

I noticed this was updated 10 min ago but do not see a response—is this a website error by chance?

The answers to these questions are obvious from your previous discussions; since you were at zero risk for syphilis, obviously that cannot be the cause of your penile "bump" you are concerned about. I have to agree with your self-assessment about excessive "self awareness and I nothing is wrong. But see a doctor about it if the bump persists and you are convinced it is new and abnormal.
Dr. Hook advised you about the policy against repeated questions especially when anxiety driven. ASHA, the forum sponsor, is not keen not keen on collecting fees for questions with obvious answers; repeated replies often prolong anxiety rather than relieving it (there's so often a "yes but" or "could I be the exception" sort of thinking); and such questions have reduced education value for other users, one of the forum's goals. There will be no further discussion now and any further questions along these lines will deleted without even this much reply. Thank you for your understanding.
