[Question #12312] Uncovered Oral
|
I recently met a CSW through a professional website and by appointment, we were engaged in deep kissing and also she gave me uncovered Blow Job though it was not deep throat. Also had vaginal intercourse with her which was covered.
My Earlier History:
Had met another one before her a month back , had deep kissing and protected oral and vaginal sex with her.
Before these two i had met another one 7-8 months back there also had deep kissing with uncovered oral and protected vaginal but finished with a handjob.
Also one more before her like 2-3 months before with light kissing and uncovered deep blowjob.
Question : Should i get tested for Any STI that i could have gotten from these dates. Also could i have got any. of these STI HIV/Syphilis/Gonorrhea/Chlamydia should i be tested for any of these.

Is there any risk of HPV1 or HPV2 from these encounters. Should i get HPV vaccine
I don't have any visible or painful mouth sores but do get some oral thrush kind of issues, not sure if its because of these incidents.

Welcome to our Forum. Thanks for your questions. The recent encounter you describe was low risk. Most CSWs, particularly highly professional ones such as your partner do not have STIs and even when they do, receipt of oral sex is a relatively low risk activity. There is virtually no risk for HIV and little risk for other STIs. Of the STIs which do occur from time to time, gonorrhea, which typically becomes symptomatic 3-4 days following contact, is most common. There is similarly, virtually no risk from deep kissing.
As for your earlier exposures, condom protected sex is safe sex as long as the condom is worn throughout the encounter and does not break (which occurs 1-2% of the time).
You asked about "HPV 1 and 2) but I presume you meant HIV 1 and 2. If so, as I said above, there is no known risk for HIV from reeipt of unprotected oral sex from a partner with untreated HIV which is an unlikely event.
Testing is always a personal choice,. You have had multiple exposures, some of somewhat small risk. Testing is not essential but might provide reassurance. EWH

Hello Doctor,
Thanks for your response. Apart from the risk of HIV , I actually wanted to know the risk of HPV(1 & 2) and HSV( 1&2) . Also another thing i forgot to mention was :
1 . I did see some blood on the tip of the covered penis , the condom did not break for sure but the blood was from her period starting phase, thats what the CSW told me after we were done. I hope that has no risk factor.
2. I am also experiencing reoccurring oral issues inside my mouth (No canker sores or any blisters as such), which are not painful at all but still come for a short period and heal by itself Could that be due to any STI?
3. Also as per the interactions i have had with the CSW with deep kissing , receiving unprotected oral from few of them and protected vaginal, and also considering the blood from her periods on tip of the condom. which all tests would you recommend me to go for?
4. You said there could be a risk of gonorrhea. What are its symptoms that i should look for ?

Most sexually active persons have one or more of the over 100 HPV types. Most infections are asymptomatic and self limited. HPV is not something to worry about.
HSV-2 is virtually never acquired from receipt of oral sex. Over 60% of adults have HSV-1 whether they know it or not. If you were going to develop HSV lesions, this would have occurred within 10 days of exposure.
In the absence of lesions, there are no good tests for HSV or HPV in men.
1. Blood on the condom does not put you at risk for STI, including HIV.
2. No
3. If you choose to test, a urine test for Gonorrhea and chlamydia will provide reliable results any time more than 3 days after exposure. Blood tests for HIV and syphilis provide reliable results when taken more than 6 weeks after an encounter. Your risk for all STIs is low.
4. Penile discharge and burning on urination.
5. Very little
You have one follow up remaining. Please don’t worry. EWH

Thanks Doc!!! This provides some relief. Are there chances of catching herpes or any other STI even though one is wearing condom. I am asking so that i can be extra careful in future. Deep kiss and giving/receiving of uncovered oral sex is low risk as you have already stated. I had previously asked whether i should be getting a HPV vaccine or its not needed, can you please help with that. Any other vaccine or over the counter medicine that you would recommend for me given the exposures i have had so far?
Thanks

When used properly condoms offer virtually complete protection against bacterial STI, such as gonorrhea, chlamydia as well as HIV, and close to complete protection against diseases, such as herpes and syphilis.
The HPV vaccine is an excellent way to prevent acquiring the HPV virus and provides close to complete protection for the nine most common types of HPV. It is strongly recommended for persons under the age of 26 and probably useful for persons older than that. Obviously, taking the vaccine is a personal choice.
As you know, we provide up to three responses to each clients questions. This is my third response and for that reason this thread will not be closed. Take care. EWH.
