Hi Doctor...Sorry for repetitive nature of Question #12308(Risk to my 3 year 7 months old daughter)...I returned coz I did not mention important details.....Request you to go through the original Question #12308.....Since it was an Indian toilet in a train of India...Please do see the link of Indian toilet in the original question...It's important and also the link of squat sitting position and the slipper...you can also search on google how an indian toilet looks like. In Indian toilet there is a sink with a hole and footrests on either side and we have sit with the foot on the footrest in squat position. You can search on internet too to get a better picture of how Indians sit on Indian toilet. Now to questions : 1)The blood was just adjacent to the left foot and it was on the foot rest (NOT IN THE SINK OF TOILET). If we draw a parallel line just 1cm from the heel(inner side not outer) the blood would have been somewhere in between the line if the line was equal to the length of the foot(From heel to toe). Did you consider this in the original question if not What are your assessments now given this additional information. 2)In that question I mentioned that She at time scratches legs and foot and sometimes it bleeds when she does that( However not sure about that day). In my original I only asked if the blood would have splashed on the foot throgh slipper hole only however it might have splashed through the entry point of foot in slipper since its vacant area. 3) Although she was wearing a full pant however some portion of her lower leg portion like ankle, heel etc were naked and not covered. What is the risk in that scenario of blood splashing assuming worst case(I am not sure whether she had scratched that time or not and whether it was bleeding or not). Please do not close the thread coz dollar to Indian ruppee is costly,

Related to question 1: if we draw two parallel lines one would be foot from heel to toe and the other parallel line(about 1-2 CM distance from the line of foot on the inner side) would be the line of blood(3-4 drops wet blood) with blood being somewhere in between the line although a bit closer towards toe from the mid point. Please try to understand that I am father who just loves his daughter so much and that's why I am adding every minute details

These are repetetative questions that were answered by Dr. Hook, or the answere are obvious from his replies. We call these "yes but" and "what if" questions, thinking of more detailed circumstances that might change things. That won't happen.

I am familiar the sort of toilet you describe from my occasional visits to your country. They do not risk transmission of blood borne infections.

1) The nearness of your child's foot to the blood (if that's what it was) makes no difference and does not create risk of virus transmission.

2,3) Infected blood on skin does not transmit these viruses, even if scratching occurs in the presence of the blood. Not enough surviving virus can reach HIV susceptible cells by scratching.

These all were truly zero risk events. Nobody in the world has ever been known catch any blood borne virus from exposure to blood or body fluids in the environment and your daughter will not be the first.

The tone and style of both your questions reveal an extreme focus on minutiae that cannot possibly matter and suggest a significant mental health problem, perhaps OCD or an anxiety disorder; you might look into professional counseling. I worry that these attitudes are not healthy either for you personally (from a psychological standpoint) or for your daughter, if you have told her of your worries. Please do not tell her and do not have her tested for HIV or other viruses. And do your best to ignore these and all additional thoughts that may come to mind. No other details of these events or scenarios of HIV transmission that might come to mind could change our professional, reasoned, science-based replies. Therefore, this thread will not remain open for follow-up comments.

There is a forum policy against repeated questions on the same topic, especially when driven by anxiety, obsessions, etc. This being your second about the blood in your daughter's environment and must be your last. Repeated anxiety driven questions are deleted without reply and without refund of the posting fee. We're not keen on collecting fees for questions with obvious answers; repeated replies often prolong anxiety rather than relieving it; and such questions have reduced education value for other users, one of the forum's goals. Thank you for your understanding.

I do hope the two discussions help you move on without further worry. Good luck to you and your family.

Thank you Sir.... It's like a dream come true...I have been reading only your and dr hook answers on medhelp and then here and ignoring other things on internet and it has helped me a lot. Now to question:-

1.I was detailing about the nearness of blood coz my daughter was sitting in squat position on squat toilet (indian) to pee. Since it was so near there is a chance that after the pee fell on blood it might have splashed onto her foot and leg.

2.In second and third question I wanted to ask that my child sometimes scratches her foot and leg and sometimes it bleeds. So assuming a scenario that she might have done that before going to the toilet and then while peeing the splash falling on that tiny scratched wounds on her foot Or leg although she was wearing slippers, covering more than half her foot and full pant covering her legs expect the lower portion as I mentioned earlier in the question.still zero risk?

3.She is having cough with phlegm (only after she wakes up in the morning and occasionally during day) and slight runny nose. Can ARS happen after 50 days from exposure. What are typical ARS symptoms and how long after expsore does it occur.

4.Is weight loss a symptom of ARS or it happens at a much later stage when hiv progress to AIDS and whether weight loss happens alone or it is accompanied by other recurring symptoms like fever, diarrhoea etc.

I have been reading to your replies since 2017 on medhelp and then here and ignoring all other things on the internet. Still doing that, however I have asked the question since my daughter is involved here, otherwise I would have not bothered to ask the question and your replies to other questions would have been more than enough for me...Thank you once again Doctor...You people are doing a great Job at least for millions of people like us who are so afraid of catching HIV from anything and everything.

The Slipper would have been like this (not exacly bust almost similar with thickness of sole might little lesser than the slipper in the image). https://www.westside.com/products/yellow-light-green-applique-detailed-clogs-300986432 (Link to see the image of image). My daughter's foot inside slipper ,must have been 1.5 cm to 2 cm above the level of blood beside her left foot. The size of that design (hole) in slipper would have been 4 cm long and height of max 1.5 cm. It was only one hole instead of two as appearing on the sides in the image of slipper in the link and instead of dotted holes on the top only one big hole was there. So these were the vacant areas along with entry point area of foot in the slipper.

SORRY DOCTOR AGAIN for detailing so much. The website does not allow to attach image or else I would not have to write this much. Please consider these details while answering.

All these questions have been answered, or the answers are obvious from my replies above and/or your previous thread. Did you not read them? Not understand? Or just not believe us?

1. It doesn't matter if blood got on her leg. Nobody ever caught HIV from blood contact with skin.
2. Already answered above. See my reply (2,3) above.
3. ARS symptoms do not include cough or phlegm. She has a cold.
4. Weight loss can occur with ARS, but also with a hundred other health problems.

The design of your daughter's slippers is irrelevant.

This thread will remain open for exactly one more comment (not two or three like this time), and if it asks anything already answered the thread will immediately be closed with no further comment. I know you love your daughter, but that does not justify nonsense questions that defy all common sense and the reasoned, science based responses you have had.

Thank you doctor.
1.My last question about weight loss was not related to this exposure. I wanted to know about weight loss as a general information. If you could shed some light on it. Like amount of weight lost and can it occur all alone or does it always occur with some other symptoms and if yes then what are those.
2.Also what are the typical ARS symptoms and how many days after exposure can it appear. Can it happen after 7 week.

Above two questions are for general information and not related to this exposure.

Thank you for being patient and so helpful

1. Human body weight is greatly influenced by innumerable health issues, and of course physical activity, diet, and genetics (family tendencies). Weight loss almost never would be the only symptom of an important health problem.

2. The most common symptoms of ARS are fever, fatigue, sore throat, muscle aching (the "flu like" symptoms often mentioned online), enlarged/lymph nodes in the neck and often body-wide, and a non-itchy body wide skin rash. At least 3 of these occur in most cases of overt ARS. Several other symptoms also can occur, such as diarrhea and joint pains. Note that cold symptoms do NOT occur with ARS (stuffy nose, congestion, cough). Half of newly infected people do not have ARS, often no symptoms at all; and all ARS symptoms are much more commonly due to other conditions. For these reasons, symptoms almost never are useful indicators either for or against a new HIV infection. ONLY blood tests can tell; symptoms never do.

That concludes this thread. Please note the forum policy that forbids repeated questions on the same topic, especially when anxiety driven. This being your second, it must be your last about your worries about your daughter's non-exposure event. Repeat questions may be deleted without reply and without refund of the posting feeWe're not keen on collecting fees for questions with obvious answers; repeated replies often prolong anxiety rather than relieving it (there's so often a "yes but" or "could I be the exception" sort of thinking); and such questions have reduced education value for other users, one of the forum's goals. Thank you for your understanding.

I do hope the two discussions have relieved your worries. Best wishes/
