Hello. My toddler has a carpet burn that is from her sliding down the stairs on her lower back. It seems to be scabbed over but this morning she was crawling all over me playing and my lips brushed against it. I don’t have a current cold sore and I am
Daily Valtrex. Do you think I should be worried about transmission here?

This is not a risk.

Thank you! I use my shoulder to adjust my glasses often and my mouth will touch my shoulder (my shirt) as well. Today I did that and while I was changing my daughters undies and she uses my shoulder a lot to balance. She immediately touched her genital area to see if she had pooped because we are working on potty training so I’m worried about transmission. I don’t have a current cold sore and I know you said fabric isn’t a method of transmission… so I was just curious why that is when they say you shouldn’t share towels. Thanks for your help.

Towels can stay warm and moist and though I've never seen anyone infected through towel contact, its characteristics, immediately after a shower, are different than the fabric situation you are discussing, which is neither warm nor moist.

Thank you! So the method above isn’t a way of transmission?

To add another one sorry. My MIL touched her coldsore then washed her hands so I’m worried about the virus being on the soap dispenser because I washed my hands 10 mins after her and then changed a poopy diaper. Is this a method of transmission to my daughter?

I take daily Valtrex but I feel burning in the spot where I get my cold sores. So I’m worried I’m getting one. I was laying on my pillow and my toddler laid on it after me but with her tummy and her pull up was kind of falling down below her belly. Could this a risk of infection? Idk is the virus can enter that area? So just barely below the belt area.

I mean idk if the virus could enter that area. And my mouth touched the pillow.

The virus needs an open area to enter - mouth or genitalia.  That place is neither, so no risk
