[Question #12367] Hiv infection risk from massage

Dear doctors, 

I had an exposure in oman, specially in a massage center, i went there and i did a massage then the therapist give me an extra offer which is body to body massage, she come above, She wasn't wearing a bra but she was wearing her panties. She put my penis between her tights.

My questions ?

1-is this exposure have a risk for HIV ?
2-do i need to have a test ?
3-is there any possibility to intercourse to happen without i know from this exposure ? Cause far i know if there is an intercourse definitely you will know

You describe a 100% safe exposure in regard to HIV -- and for other STDs as well. I would also add that all available evidence suggests HIV is rare in female six workers in the Middle East. To your specific questions:

1. HIV is not transmitted by body to body contact, only by insertive intercourse. No risk at all.

2. From a medical or risk standpoint, there definitely is no need for testing. Of course you're free to be tested anyway if you would gain further reassurance from the negative test result.

3. We are experts in STD, not in the psychology of sex. But I cannot imagine that intercourse happened without your awareness.
