[Question #12372] Risk of HIV

Hello Dr. This question might present itself as silly.
Recently I went overseas and sex twice with two different prostitutes. I received a blowjob with no condom and penetrative vaginal sex using a condom. Before we had sex, she washed my penis. She pulled back my foreskin and washed it, due to it being erect, this stretched my foreskin and was quite uncomfortable.
After sex, I removed the condom by pinching the base of the condom (the ring). Usually after sex, my foreskin becomes stuck underneath the head so basically I have to 'unroll it', usually by physically grabbing the foreskin and unrolling it. Additionally, in my last encounter when I initially inserted my penis, I felt immediate pain (due to my foreskin being stretched) and I quickly readjusted. Afterwards there was no pain.
Now what I'm worried about is when I pinched the base of the condom to remove it and then 'unrolled' my foreskin. My thumbs made contact with the condom and then the inside of my foreskin. I'm afraid when she was cleaning it, the uncomfortable process created microtears and my thumbs touched those microtears causing me to be infected. Thank you.

Furthermore, this was in Bangkok, Thailand where I believe the rates of HIV among sex-workers are quite high. Though I did see on her posting that she does not allow anal, unprotected sex or tongue exchange which eases my anxiety a bit.

Welcome to the Forum. Thanks for your questions. This was a no risk encounter. Even in Bangkok most CSWs do not have HIV and it sounds as though your partner takes appropriate precautions against becoming infected. Even if your partner did, the activities you describe were no risk. There are no proven cases of HIV acquired from receipt of oral sex and condom protected sex is safe sex. HIV is not transmitted by transfer of genital secretions on a persons hands, even should the "microtears" you describe occur. I would not be concerned. EWH---
