[Question #12374] HIV Anxiety and Testing

Hello Gentlemen, I've probably read every related post here on the forum. I've had a few instances over the past 24-30 months where a condom has slid off during vaginal intercourse with women (I'm heterosexual). Has happened probably three times, different women, one time encounters. They are all of unknown HIV status. It's been more than 18 weeks since last potential exposure.

In the 17th and 18th weeks I've conducted a Home Test via Oraquick (negative, though I know not preferred due to 2-5% miss rate), Rapid Blood Test with Dr. Office -Fingerstick (Negative), and 2 Fourth Gen HIV Tests drawn and conducted by Labcorps within 4/5 days of eachother (Both Negative). My Dr. is not concerned after the Rapid Test, and I'm sure I'm having health anxiety for sure. Is there any possible way that I require further testing or different testing?

Everything I've read on these two forums (here and HealthTap with Dr. H) has suggested that these tests are conclusive completely at 6 weeks by themselves except the Oraquick. I just figured I'd ask my question to ensure I can resume unprotected sex with my long term partner without risk.

Welcome to the Forum and thanks for your questions.  I happened to be on the Forum when your questions arrived so you are getting a response more quickly than is typical.  Any follow-ups may take longer to get a response.  I'll do my best to provide the reassurance you are requesting.

Thanks as well for looking at other threads on the Forum.  They have served their purpose and have absolutely proven that you have not acquired HIV from the encounters you describe.  You can be entirely confident in the results which also serve to confirm one another.  You do not have HIV and there is no need for further testing.  Likewise there is no reason to abstain from unprotected sex with your regular partner

Please don't worry, you're in the clear.  EWH
