Question: Exactly 18 days back I had an erotic body massage where the female masseuse randomly wiped outside my Anus (no penetration) with soft wipes and wet wipes then with a hot towel. She then proceeded to lick my scrotum she licked three or four times before I stopped her as I didn’t intended that and also I have small boils on my scrotum and constant itching I keep scratching sometimes constantly. She gave me handjob and ended the massage session. Is this a concern for HiV? Planned a 4th gen hiv ag/ab combo test. Please advise how worried I should be and how accurate would be the test at 21 days. I am planning to do one more at 50 days

Welcome to the Forum. Thanks for your questions. This was an entirely no risk encounter. HIV is not transmitted by frottage (body to body rubbing), by licking of the scrotum (even in the presence of boils), by receipt of masturbation. Likewise, even if her genital secretions cam into contact with you during the encounter there would be no risk. I see no reason for concern and no medical or scientific reason for testing although I understand how a negative test might provide additional peace of mind.
at 21 days a 4th generation HIV test would detect about 70-75% of recent infections, at 4 weeks that figure increases to more than 98% of infections and at 6 weeks results are entirely conclusive. I am confident that if and when you test, no matter when you test the test will show that you were not infected by this encounter.

Thank you Doctor Edward for your reply. The biggest worry and reason to get tested is that I am married and we are planning for kids. This is my first body massage in 8 years I.e. since marriage. The biggest concern is that what if the masseuse had an active cut on her fingers or bleeding gums which I didn’t check and exactly 10 days after the encounter I had a severe hot flush middle of my sleep no sweat though but my wife rushed as I was worried and called her. After that I see dry cough and body heat and sweating through out the day.

Also me and masseuse cuddled for couple of minutes before she proceeded to give me the handjob. Cuddled means she slept almost on me just touching her vagina with my penis no penetration at all.

Your marital status has no impact on my assessment. This was a no risk encounter. That is the case, not only in terms of the boils present on your scrotum, but with the possibility that she might have cuts or scrapes on her hands or bleeding gums. EWH---

Hi Doctor, sorry to ask again. What about my symptoms. Yesterday night which would be exactly 20 days after the encounter I was having hot flashes throughout the night. I was able to sleep barely. Booked my 21 day test for Tomorrow. Please advise doctor. I am now concerned that if she rubbed my Anus with her after touching or inserting her finger into her vagina.

Hot flashes are not a sign of HIV or other STIs. Touching your anus in the manner you describe is a form of masturbation which is NOT a risk for HIV. When your test is negative, you can be confident that your symptoms are not due to HIV. If they were, the test would certainly be positive.
