[Question #12376] New question about unprotected vaginal on OCT. 9 this year.

Hey docs. I know I said I wouldn’t be back but I had a totally new unprotected vaginal sex episode with female that I was hanging out / talking with for a while question ( I am male ) that I have been stumped on. Please forgive me for coming back. I have listened to both of you and I will make this short and sweet. My sex episode was on OCT 10th. I waited like both of you have said and took a 4th generation ( Ab/Ag HIV 1/2 )lab based blood test 56 days ( 8 weeks ) from the episode… The test was performed by Labcorp. It came back non reactive . What brings me here is different answers I have read from both of you. My worry is HIV-2 .. both of you have stated that it’s no longer 12 weeks, and at 8 weeks a negative 4th generation HIV lab based test is conclusive for HIV-2…. However I have found a post from each of you stating 60 days is now conclusive for HIV 2 with the 4th gen test. I can post if you need to look at it. I am now on OCD medicine from being a worrier in the past and I tried not to come to y’all again and waited 56 days for my test. I was so relieved until I seen that 60 days for HIV-2 stuff. Please just shed some light on that. I thought I did the right thing and tested at 56 days to be conclusively negative for HIV-1 and HIV -2. Thank you

One answer. Your 56 day test proves that you do not have HIV-1 or HIV-2. Address your OCD. By all rights this question should have been deleted without a response. Future questions reflecting your OCD will be. EWH---
