Hello Doctor Edward, I sincerely would like to apologise if by any means I offended you or wasted your time with my unnecessary concerns. When you clearly explained to me in both your responses that my risk was no risk and scientifically I do not need to test at all.

But for my peace of mind. I took the HIV AG/AB test at 21st day in Sydney Australia, which was Negative for HIV. My concerns and symptoms were due to my anxiety and guilt. I greatly appreciate the expert advice and guidance you and Dr Handsfield provide. Wishing you both a Merry Christmas and a Wonderful Holiday Season.

This question came to me, not Dr. Hook; users do not have the option of choosing the moderator who responds to their questions. But I have reviewed your discussion with Dr. Hook and agree entirely with all he said and I'm glad you now understand the real cause of your symptoms. More important, now you understand that your negative HIV test at 21 days is proof HIV is not the cause of the symptoms. Dr. Hook was not at all offended by your previous comments -- we just get frustrated when users let their emotions overrule our reasoned, science based expertise and advice.

We appreciate your thanks, but I see no new questions here. However, seeing your location, you should know that collectively Australia's federally funded sexual health centres are the world's very best STI/HIV clinics. Perhaps you were tested at one of them (?). Whether or not you were tested there, you can always rely on their advice if and when the need arises. Their expertise is equal to ours.

Thanks again for your kind words. Happy holidays yourself.

HHH, MD
