[Question #12436] Likelyhood for STD from unprotected oral sex with escort

Recieved protected oral from escort. Gave short unprotected oral to her (very short). What are the chances of contracting STIs and what is your general recommendation now?

Just to clarify a bit, I am not really worried about the recieving part. We used a condom. The giving part is what worries me. From reading here a bit, the risk for HIV is incredibly low and in general for other infections the risk is low too. So, I am probably okay. Still, feel free to answer, reassurance is very welcome

Welcome to our forum. Thank you for your questions. Thank you as well for reviewing other interactions with past clients. We make them available to assist our clients in finding out information about their own situations. Your review of our past interactions has served you well. This was a virtually no risk exposure.
Most people do not have STI’s, particularly commercial sex workers who tend to be better than most about testing. In addition when a person’s partner has an STI‘s, they are usually not transmitted during the course of single encounters. Further, among penetrative, sexual activities, oral sex is the biologically least efficient type of sexual contact. Particularly since your receipt of oral sex was condom protected, this was and virtually no risk situation. STI is following performance of cunnilingus are also very, very rare.
We do not normally recommend testing for persons following a single casual sexual encounter. This is even more true when those encounters involve oral sex as yours did. nonetheless, some clients choose to test anyway for the reassurance that a negative test provides. If you choose to test, the most important test, you could perform would be an oral swab testing for gonorrhea. If you choose to test for HIV or syphilis, those tests would require a blood test and will not provide conclusive evidence until more than six weeks following your encounter.
I hope this information is helpful to you. If you have additional questions, feel free to use your up to to follow ups for clarification.

Thank you for replying. I am probably going to get tested just for peace of mind. When can I test for oral gonorrhea the earliest and what are the symptoms of oral gonorrhea?

A test for gonorrhea will provide accurate results anytime more than 3 to 5 days following the encounter of concern. Your test should include a throat swab and, if you are worried about the condom, a urine test. EWH.---

Thank you doctor. I have 2 more questions and I think I'll have used up my quota then.
1. My cat scratched me on my finger the two days before the encounter. There was slight blood, but now the wound has begun healing. The finger in question did not go near the escorts genitals/mouth, I just touched her with that hand. That should be okay, right? I can attach an image of the scratch, it's superficial but enough for there to have been slight blood when my cat scratched me.
2. Hypothetically, if I did catch something, can I infect anyone else through non sexual means? Ie is my roommate potentially at risk since we use the same utensils/toilet etc. I know im probably okay, but I'd hate to pass anything along
Thank you!

Final Responses
1. The cat scratch does not represent a risk
2. Non-sexual activities would not put others at risk This included shared utensils, using a toilet which may or may not be soiled, etc.
I really see no reason for you to worry.
As you know, this completes this thread. There should be no need to return. EWH
