[Question #12458] Hiv from Oral sex

Dear Dr. HHH,
Good day!
I am from India.
Yesterday I went to massage parlour and took a erotic massage. Myself and therapist was wearing a surgical gloves in hand. She was wearing her panties. I was rubbing her vaginal over her panties with gloves in my hand and finally she gave me a oral sex (blowjob) with a condom. It was only for 10 to 15 seconds. When I asked her whether she will do vaginal intercourse she said yes but only with two condoms for protection. I never took vaginal or anal sex. It is only oral sex with condom. I even checked the condom after removing it and could see sperm stored in the tip. Hence I concluded that there is no tears or no leak in condom.
Here's my question.
1. Whether my risk is still zero for HIV?
2. Oral sex with condom is still no or zero risk for HIV?
3. Oral sex without condom is still no or zero risk for HIV?
4. The only risk is unprotected vaginal and Anal sex right ? Not oral sex correct?
5. Do I still need HIV testing? Or I can move forward with out testing (no testing need)?
6. Can I still have unprotected sex with my wife?
I am depressed now. You will suggestion and advise will help me a lot.

Welcome to the forum. Thank you for your question.
This was an entirely safe sexual encounter; you were at no more risk of an STI than if you had met this person socially and shook hands with her. Your questions show you understand intellectually that you were not at risk. But to assure no misunderstanding:
1. Yes, zero risk.
2. Also zero risk.
3. Unprotected oral sex has never been proved to transmit HIV, oral to penis; if there is any risk at all, it's too low to worry about.
4. Correct for vaginal and anal sex; see no. 3 re oral sex.
5. From a medical/risk standpoint, you do not need testing. Of course you're free to do it if you feel you need the additional reassurance of negative test results.
6. I see no reason not to continue unprotected sex with your wife.
I hope you're right, that these comments will help. However, it seems likely that you are depressed as much or more because you are ashamed or otherwise regret this sexual choice. But for sure there is no basis to be upset or depressed on account of STI risk; there was none.
Let me know if anything isn't clear.

Dear Dr.HHH,
Thanks for your explanation.
I am happy to hear that my risk is zero to HIV. I will not take any test. However if I need I will take after 2weeks just for my mind relax (if needed).
Sir, whether you have seen any positive hiv case for oral sex in your entire career?

Of course you're free to get tested if you need the negative results (in addition to the solid science) for additional reassurance. If so, please don't waste your money and emotional energy on a "comprehensive" test package that usually includes several bacteria and viruses that don't even cause disease or whose results are unreliable, even in the best of labs. Even for reassurance, all you should have is urine for gonrrhea/chlamydia (valid any time after 3-4 days) and blood tests for HIV and syphilis after 6 weeks.---

Hello Doctor,
Thank you.
I prefer to leave this here itself and proceed to move further without testing.
One last thing I missed in my initial message. I shaved hair near my nipples and the massage therapist sucked my both nipples for 30 seconds with out any bite.
Yesterday I had slight pain in the nipple area could be hair which was trimmed might have hurted me. Today I have no pain.
I believe that this is also a zero or no risk for HIV. Please advice
If zero or no risk for HIV I will stop here and proceed my life happily with out any testing.
This will be my last question and proceed further without any testing.
Looking forward for your final advice.
Once again thank you so much for the support and advice. I was able to come out of my stress and depression with your help sir.
Happy new year sir.

I agree oral contact with nipples (or with skin anywhere on the body) carries little or no risk of HIV.
I support your decision not to be tested for HIV.
Thanks for the thanks. I'm glad to have helped! Happy new year to you.
