[Question #12461] STD Risk

I went to a massage parlor and they used an electric trimmer and then two disposable razors on my pubic region. I was then massaged and given a handjob. The masseuse kept her clothes on but 10 days later I noticed discharge under foreskin and the skin was peeling and red. Took herpes test igg at 7 weeks and it was negative. Full panel of other stds at 9 weeks and they were negative. Antifungal cleared up visible symptoms but my penis has a burning sensation that still lingers. No sores ever presented. Hoping to get advice if further testing is needed. Thank you!

I’ve read your posts on handjobs but it was the combo with the trimmer at the massage that had me concerned along with the balantis symptoms appearing 10 days later.

Welcome to the Forum.  Thanks for reviewing prior question/answer threads on our site.  My sense is that your review of earlier questions has provided you with the answer to your questions.   I'll do my best to validate this.  You do not know that your masseuse has HIV or any other STI and statistically it is unlikely that she did.  Even if she did, the activities you describe did not put you at risk, either from being shaved/trimmed or from receipt of masturbation or from the combination of the two.  Your tests out to 9 weeks are accurate and should be believed.  I see no reason for further testing related to the encounter you describe.  I suspect the balanitis you describe was a coincidence.

I hope this perspective is helpful.  EWH

Thank you Dr., this helps and it’s easy to go down a rabbit hole on the internet. The herpes test was only at 7 weeks and there is a lot of misinformation out there about whether it can be transmitted via razor/ shaver. I’ve never had balantis before so the coincidence scared me. Your response helps and I think part of my issue is regret/ guilt so it’s impacting me mentally.

I would not be worried about herpes from this exposure either.

I'm pleased I could provide information you found helpful.  EWH
