[Question #12606] HIV risk

Hi experts:
Yesterday I went to a massage parlor and had unprotected oral sex (for like 2 minutes) as well as kissing. We then proceeded to protected vaginal sex with a condom on. We used lube and after the job was done I checked the condom and no cum was leaking out. This whole process was done twice in the same night. I was wondering if this could be a risk for HIV exposure? The massage parlor is acually just a place to purchase sex as the ladies are disguised as masseurs. This girl was a student in London and is on holiday in USA while taking this job too- she said the last time she checked was september- she has been working ever since- however i don't think she accepts extra tip for unprotected sex. In general should I be on pep? Will this be a risky encounter?
I appreciate your help!

Welcome back to the forum; thanks you for your continued confidence in our services.

However, I don't understand why you found it necessary to ask these questions. You describe an exposure almost exactly like the one we discussed 4 months ago. My reply then advised that HIV has never been known to be transmitted by oral sex (mouth to penis) and that most massage workers do not have HIV anyway. And of course condom protected vaginal sex is entirely safe. And you also now give evidence that it is especially unlikely your massage contact this time has HIV. Finally, last time I also advised you did not need PEP.

All those comments are the same this time:  you are at no measurable risk of HIV, certainly do not need PEP, and do not need to be tested for HIV on account of this event.

I hope these comments are helpful. Let me know if anything isn't clear.

I understand, I just read online and from friends who told me how people get HIV from condom sex as well as receiving oral sex ( she had a toungue piercing). I also gave her oral sex at some point too.

Some people may believe they acquired HIV during condom protected sex, but mostly they're wrong. They actually acquired HIV some other way or from a different partner; or they didn't use the condom properly. But even without a condom, I would have considered this a nearly zero risk exposure and would advise against HIV testing. Performing oral sex on her also was risk free; there has never been a proved case of HIV from cunnilingus (oral-vaginal sex).

Searching online for health issues that worry you often just increases the worry. Anxious persons are drawn to information that inflames their fears. If you feel compelled to search about HIV risks, I would advise using only professionally run or moderated sites (e.g. academic medical centers, public health agencies, or professionally moderated forums) and avoid sites run by and for people with HIV or at risk (like Reddit, for example).

got it- what would be a inproper use case of a condom that could lead to hiv? putting it on and just getting on with the business doesn't count right. It also has something to do with the lube use right

Probably the most common type of improper condom use is starting sex without it, then withdrawing and putting on the condom for ejaculation. Slippage is another, probably often because too large a condom is used; it's quite common for men to continue with sex not knowing the condom has come off entirely and is inside the vagina. Breakage of course is another possibility, but that's not improper use, just bad luck.

The cut on your lip doesn't change anything, even if it was present during the sexual exposure you are concerned about.

That completes two follow-up comments and replies and so ends this thread. Please note the forum policy against repeated types of questions. This being your second about almost identical exposures, it will have to be your last. Please note that repeated questions may be deleted without reply and without refund of the posting fee. Thank you for your understanding. I hope the two discussions have been helpful. Best wishes and stay safe, as you have been.
